So, I don't actually do any real Writing... I'm more text-based than an actual programmer or renderer. But over the past few weeks Darion and I have been collaborating on a project that we'd like your input on. So far we don't have much beyond concept sketchs and story ideas, but as I know nothing about rendering and Darion says he's going to have to re-learn a lot of his Blender training, we'd really appreciate any insights you all have to offer.
The idea is that the Age is a Maintainer outpost, far off the shores of a world that was unintentionally (?) inhabited. For whatever reason, the Maintainers decided to keep an eye on the world, so they built a series of sea forts.

The resemblance to the Maunsell Sea Forts of England is coincidental. Anyway. The player has to restore power to the base in order to unlock the door to the Control Center, which controls the bridges that connect the more secure areas of the base (the linking room, the brig, and the CC itself). Only one bridge can be extended at a time, so the player has to play around a bit to finally access the brig. (Darion had a great sketch of the control map for this, but I can't find it in my files right now. Hopefully he'll post it himself.)

Once the player accesses the brig, he discovers a secret ladder leading down to an underwater base--or more properly a dungeon. It seems the Maintainer base was a cover for a slavery ring--possibly involving the Bahro. Maybe just two or three Maintainers were involved or maybe the whole base was in on it... hard to say. But the underwater base contains cells, possibly quarters for the slavers, definitely a linking book (or platform FOR a book) they would use to transport the slaves to Teledahn or wherever, and also a submarine (now broken) that would be used to journey unnoticed to the mainland and capture slaves.

I have NO idea what Blender can actually do, and I'm more or less throwing ideas out to Darion. I'm like the annoying sales guy who makes all the big ambitious promises, and Darion is the engineer who actually has to figure out how to do them. So... any thoughts?
EDIT: Also, does anyone know how to make these pictures smaller?
