I'd like to help out if I can.
Thank you for this kind offer.
I will undoubtely will need some help.
I recall there were a few things, such as how the doors were handled, that were done less than optimally for Uru
Yes i am aware of that. Unfortunately thats for a reason.
In short . I had to find a solution on how to make conditional jumps
The long answer is:
- Show Spoiler
to shape condionatiol jumps i animated detection regions.
If the correct object was touched the region was raised from down under to the correct place .And that could be anywhere in the age , not only on the place you where standing right now.
And the new raised region was able to raise a second or third region in order.
I also made two buttons, one button for true and one for false. The buttons where textured fully transparent and inside a visible button without collider that itself did nothing at all.
Dependent on the state they changed place ,again by using animation.
It looked like you where touching the same button , but it was not. A dirty trick
That explains why the cathedral was written to solve alone and off line.
Unfortunately when i published it, within hours , someone of the community uploaded it to diafero with question to put it on deep island.
And he did.
I don’t blame him or anyone for that at all, he could not know this tricks without studying the age .
The age is completely unsolvable if you do not start with a clean version.
But what could i do?
Shit happens.
Finally,
The most difficult puzzle of the Cathedral is "the making off"
Can you imagine how the Pyprp looked like? for the switching board or the gong puzzle?
it would be the perfect time to streamline some of that and make it work more in line with how the game expects things to work
thats why i am starting just now instead of earlier.
It would be great if Korman could provide a simple “if ---then else “ node.
And some variables then can be set to different values during puzzle solving.
I estimate this is a hell of a task to make.
But for the coder noobs like, me its nearly impossible to make puzzles without that.
And if you ever need live help, several of us are usually around in our GoW IRC channel ready to give advice and fix bugs!
Thanks again , i knew that this channel exists, but its my difficulties with following spoken english .
Not only the foreign language, but combined with my bad hearing its hard with all the different dialects.
or is it typing? sorry i never used it, so i don't know.
edit: found it!. i am connected using hexchat.
edit: looking into it again, i think that lots of the coding problems can be solved by using booleans.
i will try to do that once i am able to do exporting, which is still far away.
