One simple thing you could have would be an animated sky. Doesn't need anything too fancy, just a simple scrolling texture would add quite a bit of life to the Age.
And maybe a bit more ambient noise?

Another random improvement I was thinking of: projected textures to cast palm tree shadows on the avatar. (Like there is outside of Garrison). This is something that adds a lot to realism and isn't too 'expensive'. You have a lot of trees though and they are pretty close to each other, so I'm not sure it would work perfectly.. Having one texture projector on the scene is fine, having twelve might start hurting performance a bit more. Hmm.. instead of having one for each tree it would be possible have only two very large projectors, one for each group of trees. That would require two rather large textures but that could work.
