Hi all,

As i told before i started recently to learn the Unreal engine.
Importing a big project as my Cathedral was not so succesfull but did promise me a lot about how it could be once i am fluent in the new engine.

So i started small and builded an Isle from scratch, to learn from every mistake i made.

I called that Isle "My new Unreal Relto", i will publish it when it is ready
....It will be VR ready ! So if you own a Rift, put your goggles on!

Here is a teaser, The texturing is not ready, and i still have to overcome some issues.
Please tell me what you think.

bye.

Shorah dendwaler, I love the Venalem submarine and harvester! Did you "borrow" them from Rell-too? ;)

I will hope they are in good repair when you release your Age! :D

@Ania.
Good eye! , yes i had the blendfiles because it was me that builded and contributed the Harvester to Reltoo.
The submarine, indeed also from Venalem , was also modeled by me , but never publised.
I made the Canon in the same style.
The perspective dimensions in Unreal are very different from Plasma , far more realistic.
That means that you now can enter the Riven hut, and inside there are normal proportions.
I am able to make a stair inside and make a second floor easily.

@Wam,
I am sure it will be far better.!
but realize that the textures shall be different, because the whole material construction is different and multi layering is not possible.( Lets give it a try! I am almost sure this is the way to go for fanmade ages.
Another advantage of unreal is "level streaming " , (You can define areas that the engine load and unloads new areas.)
In other terms, it not so critical on the number of vertices, if designed well.

I have not played with the blueprint system yet. The blueprints are the equivalent of the Alcscripting and drives the logic in Unreal. I noticed there is even a blueprint available for a multiplayer environment.
I am not sure about network coding though.g
Another point is , you only have the first person view. i dont want the third person view, because i want to be able to make it VR compatible.
I have high expectations for Googles daydream , i think it wil be more what the Rift should be.
Affordable and wireless. :D

I have been following some tutorials on the Unreal Engine 4 and came across this forest creation MP4.

When I saw that movie I was hooked and am so wanting to see the Blue Garden created utilizing this tool. What really sold me though was this movie of the Cavern

I agree absolutely stunning,
but they probably did one frame a minute in that video, ,because the real work goes ...slooooooow.
Before we all manage to do that, as they did , its still quite a " journey" to go. :D

I know - BUT - I can imagine searching the forest solving puzzles trying to find the keys to the entrances of 4 different areas to solve even more puzzles to return to the forest and then finally back to reality.
