New Age ready - testers wanted!

I have just finished writing my first age, Terahgrahm, and I am looking for people to test it before I make it public on the forum. Are you interested?

The Cyan ages had a particular look and feel to them that I've attempted to emulate in this age. I created all the materials myself but tried to make them look familiar. I built all of the 3D modelling myself. I followed the Andy Legate tutorials for most things, (lighting effects, water, ripples, steam, sound effects, animations) and you'll recognize the ladder actions, sitting chair and nexus linking book from Karkadann's Avi actions Max file. It's basically a labyrinth and I have gone for artistic effect and design rather than gameplay and puzzles as I am not a coder. It is my first experience with 3D modelling and has taken me a just over year of very steep learning curves to get this far.

Who would like to test it?

Please PM me and I'll send you a link to my archive file.

Enjoy and send me your feedback, please!

Amazing work, Semjay. Looks very impressiv.

By the way, i also followed all the turorials of Andy Legate, wich he maked for Blender.
He left an invaluable value. It's so sad he gave up.

Many thanks to those who responded : )

Here is a brief summary:
No-one has found anything seriously wrong - such as falling through floors or walls, thank goodness!
I have packaged the Age as both zip and rar files now.
It's probably not going to work with multiple players because if someone turns the power off, anyone "upstairs" won't be able to get back through the first gate.
When walking through water, sometimes your ripply wake disappears and I think that has to do with how the camera follows when you change direction.
Also when walking through water you don't get the swashy sound effects and that's because I couldn't find how to apply them - they're not in the foot sounds list in the Max plasma plug in. Any ideas?
Oh yes, the ladder is wobbly!

That's it, it's finished!

This is the updated version as of 24th July 2019.
This includes new Visibility Regions to make the game run faster
Unnecessary sound files have been deleted
Deep Water sfx added
Metal ladder footsteps sfx added

Unpack the archive with WinRar or WinZip and copy the extracted files into an existing Uru offline installation. Link to Terahgrahm by using the command /link Terahgrahm or from the book in Relto or the Nexus.

Enjoy!

Thank you, Semjay for submitting a nicely crafted age!
Especially the lightning is very well done!
I like it very much and it indeed gives us the so wanted "Cyan "feeling.

Despite the testing i found a door that can be passed without opening it.
The collider for the right side seems to be missing.
I think you will recognize the spott in the picture.

Well i go on exploring, because i probably have not seen all of it yet. :D

Hello Semjay :)
You have really created a wonderful age. It is very athmospheric. It could definitely be a part of the City Aguera. I particularly like the details and the lightening.
I agree with dendwaler, it give us the Cyan feeling back. Your time you sacrificed and the hard work you invested has paid off.
Unfortunately, I only work with Blender, so I can not help you with your problems.

Thank you for sharing your work. It is exelent.

Dulcamara :)

Dendwaler, thanks for spotting that missing collider! I'll get on with fixing that.

I used about 150 separate lights in total and made sure that nearby objects had plenty of vertices to pick the light up and get that soft glow effect.

Anyone found anything else that needs fixing?

Tried this out the night you posted, but have been too busy since to respond (sorry!).

Wow! This is really great! 8-) I really enjoy the sense of place that it has.

Are you interested in feedback and/or bug reports at this time?

I realize I'm a bit late to the party, but I just uploaded this age to UAM+DI. ;) Sorry it took me so long! I sometimes can the Deep Island subforum here, but don't frequent the others any more.

Oh and my scripts tell me the age comes with a sound file "TerahgrahmMusic03.ogg" that is not actually used.
