Sprites Verses Swivel In Max

If your looking to build something like a simple light I found it easier to attach a Swivel component to it then a sprite http://wiki.openuru.org/index.php?title=Sprites_and_Billboards_in_Max
The issues I had with sprites is that it rotates on all three axis's unlike the light on the railing for the Relto stairs which only seems to rotate on one axis. the swivel component is simple to use and does not require all sorts of complicated component additions. basically attach and set the options to what you want and your good to go
also a weird example of what else you can do with Swivel component is the crystal skull in the Stonehenge cavern which if you notice seems to be rotating to follow your movement
I tried using the sprite component on the skull at first but found it rotated on all three axis's which did look kind of odd even for me :?

The swivel component is a strange beast, as I found when adding the ViewFace modifier to Korman. The Max plugin has them as separate things, but they're all the same modifier underneath, just with different presets. It's all a matter of which axes they pivot on, which axes are locked, and whether they pivot to face the camera, the player, a specific object, or a listener.

I think it might be interesting to slap one of these on an object that's also attached to a Follow modifier. Could end up with something pretty magical... or creepy.

The Follow modifier keeps kicking out java errors from drizzle, I think its the same error and warnings that it produces when it don't recognize something. I'll try and post it later, im still working on an old XP offline with Max 7

Although they might be in interesting addition for Korman, you might be able to set up a something-or-other following you around the age if the combination of the two works like I suspect they might

Aww, that's a shame. You should be able to use them, just not for an Age you plan to convert back to the old engine, I guess.

Korman already supports them. :D

As long as we are on the subject, are you guys going to include a way to add new AV animations to fan made ages using Korman, as I recall there where a few ages put on the back burner by gateway team cuz no one ever figured out how to add new AV animations using Max. I tried editing every file that has anything to do with AV animation but nothing seems to work, I also contacted Cyan about it with no luck perhaps you'll have better luck with Blender.
I do have an idea for Rebec that zips the AV from point a to point b with no animation that uses the warphack ani and a AV oneshot basicly you put the sensor region and responded at point A and put the AV oneshot dummy at point B

Kinda like harnessing gravity and making it pull you sideways from one point to another. I could put a wire or transparent platform underneath and make it link like you zipping on a tightrope or a 2 by 6 made of quarts if AV animation ain't an option

The plan is for Korman to be as feature-complete as possible, so eventually, yes!
