Blender measurements
Blender measurements
Hi, I was just wondering. I have imported Yeesha in Blender to use her model as a guide for distance. I would say 3 blender unites (grid blocks) as about the same as 1 meter / 3 feet? Would that be close?
Re: Blender measurements
I use the 'dummyAvatar' as measure when I build, and he has the height of 6 blender units ( = 3 blender cubes). So if you want to think of that in meters, 3 blender units should be almost 1 meter.
You can set the Scene properties to 'None' or 'Meter' if you want to check things.

Hehehe. That's awesome.
I recently found him lurking in some old age building files (from like 10 years ago). I love the pipe and hat.
Gehn or Gilligan? You decide!

That's nice to see him pop around.
I remember creating it because at first I was using an imported mesh of Rand Miller's Uru avatar, and it was getting a little creepy seeing dozens of textureless motionless Rands all around the place...

Re: Blender measurements
Ok thnx! That helps
Btw I use a Yeesha model from the game as reference. She has her arms wide which helps with horizontal spacing.

Oh and yeah, about scaling, this might help:
1 unit = 1 foot = 30.48cm
Male avatar: roughly 6 feet tall
Female avatar: roughly 5.5 feet tall
Male eyes: 5.7 feet from the ground
Female eyes: 5.27 feet from the ground

Re: Blender measurements
I also use the dummy Avatar, but I added to him a "bounding box" cylinder.
