I honestly have no idea.
All I know is we went to a Peking duck restaurant, my friends bought a cake next door, and the restaurant staff served the cake (whipped cream and all) at the start of the meal. Which is a little weird, but the good thing is you don't have to set aside some room for dessert, since it's been taken care of.
