I think you misunderstood. That was a copy of the letter sent to RAWA about veralun's moderation. It is that letter that apparently got Tweek and Denis demoted.

Yeah, I get that... I'm just still choosing to attribute it to a screwup, either technically or socially, rather than malice. These things take time to sort out.

Definitely. It is unfortunate that all of this is happening during a week end, as that means RAWA and/or Chogon won't be able to sort this out until monday.. And they will certainly have quite a lot to sort out.

One thing that has crossed my mind is Cyan has always been a bit more secretive about their business and whats going on behind closed doors and I can see this being an exception. I know from personal experience that its easy to make a fool out of my self by acting on something when I don't have all of the information about the situation. I don't think their will be many that know all of the factors that led to the decisions being discussed, and of those how many are willing to talk.

Im personally not to sure what really going on at Cyan concerning this situation but it does seem to me that some of the puzzle peaces are missing because something smells real fishy

although I am kinda curios as to what the ribbon in the upper right hand corner is for not to change the subject but I just noticed it.

What is going on is Cyan is in the process of developing their “damage control plan”.

What little bit of that plan we saw publicly Friday has only aggravated the situation. Hopefully they have gone back to the drawing board and are building a better mouse trap.

The ribbon tells others you are online here.

What kinda mouse is Cyan trying to catch?? And how will it effect Uru live if at all. Because lately the Caverns have been the only place I can go to escape. Witch is why I go out of my way not to bring excessive psychological baggage with me, Its a nice peaceful place, one of the few or the one that I personally know of.

Oh ya I was kinda wondering because the middle part of the ribbon is covered all I saw was part of an "O" and part of an "E"

I'm trying to understand what's the big deal with this situation.
Just stop going to the MOUL forum. Problem solved.

We don't need it for interaction with Cyan.

That sentiment ignores the signals this sends to the community at-large and its effects on creating content for an Open Uru. Not to mention the only Uru we currently have is the slow, outdated version used on the shards. I wouldn't take such a cavalier attitude.

“building a better mouse trap”.

My intent, simplistically, was they are building a better process to run their company with. It is a metaphorical reference to business model, plan, outline, etc..

Sorry for the confusion Karadann.

[edit1]
spelling - simplistically

I will totally agree once Open Source URU is released. :D

Then we can move away from all this crap. 8-)

After wading through MO:UL forum I feel the need to go shower. :P

Yes and no. Not having an official forum and having to deal with several fan forums, would only make things harder for Cyan. An official forum is definitely not the easiest thing to deal with, but having a game without an official forum, well, that's just a horrible mess.

I'm glad that Whilyam (and the others who signed the letter) brought this to everyone's attention. A lot of people, including myself, have had issues with veralun in which he acted very unjustly. This has been going on for a few years and nothing has changed. This time, because of all the publicity, Cyan can't ignore this any more and needs to take action. And the whole community is watching, so they should act wisely. (Needless to say, demoting Tweek and ddfreyne is the wrong action.)

It is sad that Cyan needs to be "challenged" so heavily, while they probably have better things to do, but this seems to be the only way to draw their attention. They have allowed this to get out of hand, even though they have had plenty of warnings against veralun's behaviour.
