You didn't know it, but that's exactly what I had planned and I was looking to the fourms for input and to drum up support. I was just not going to make it public until I had delivered something. I heard from generous explorers behind the scenes, any many thanks to those who believed and helped. I have no idea if anyone at Cyan saw anything I wrote on the forums, but I am greatly satisfied that Cyan also saw it as inevitably necessary as I.
And now I'm
doing something else (OpenUru.org) to support not only the open source cause, but to generally support any worthy idea and remove some more "barriers," as it were. You were, in part, an inspiration by your admonishment to
do something besides talk. It was a good point, beyond what I had already planned, so thanks for that.
With the promise of open source Uru, I'm very curious how this topic might get refocused on the new reality. Now what does everyone see as the barriers to fan development? I come at this, obviously, from the point of view of doing what I can to remove them.
