Farewell to MOUL

Postby Nek'rahm » Tue Apr 08, 2008 6:30 pm

Well, this is it. In two days time, MOUL shuts down on GameTap's end.

However, I look forward to what the future may hold. Whether or not Uru is alive in that future will be seen.

I hope everyone can use this thread to post any final messages they have concerning what MOUL was and is. Just kinda a memorial spot for it.

~Nek'rahm

P.S. Please, don't troll or post things about MOUL failing. Just post about things you had fun with, if possible. If you highlight a bad part, be courteous. As I said, I intended for this to be a memorial.

Gotta say g'bye to the Bahro. Loved those little things...

My Relto birds... my full calendar... Myst's Library...

Most of all, goodbye to Ae'gura. Though it's still in Uru:CC, it ain't the same :(

Ah, MOUL. You gave me a glimpse of what Uru was meant to be, and you brought me closer than ever to filling up my book case.

I'll miss...

Minkata (I know some thought it was a cheat, but I loved it. :) )
The expanded Kveer (btw I recently figured out that the music from the MO Kveer was used at the end of the POTS.)
Fireworks (even if it was only because of MOUL's closing that I got the last of my sparklies.)
The Pods (nothing fills up a bookshelf like five books all leading to the same age.)
The Balcony in Ahnonnay (I love the view there. Definite improvement.)
My nice full looking Relto (gotta have more Relto pages.)
The Beginners Bevin (can find friends there even on the slowest day.)
The Snowy Delin (I love snow. I hope to write a snow age one day. I may have to wait a while before we figure how to make snow in Uru. Oh well. )

I'm going to miss watching everyone else running around like a Bahro........(holding the Tab key while running). First time I saw that I litterally got sick from laughing too hard!

I'll miss everyone saying "shutup! Spoilers!"

Oh wait, no I won't miss that!

But I will miss everyone that was there and was having fun. Even if I was not with them exploring, it was neat to watch the hood chat of UO and see everyone just gushing about this and that.

I'll miss finding sparkelies.

I'll miss MOUL's version of K'veer. That WAS well done.

Oh, and I'll miss everyone in my hood letting me believe for weeks on end when I first joined that you could get out of the pods!

"Andy, are you sure you don't want us to tell you-"
"NO! hush up! I love figuring things out. Now lets see, is it this button, THEN this button?....."
"pssst. leave Andy alone. He's having too much fun. The truth would hurt too much...."
:D

Tonight I spent an hour on Kveer, chatting with two other players, just admiring the view and enjoying the music.
It was a lot quieter than when Yeesha paid a visit.
I will miss that place.

I lost full access to the Cavern on the 4th, but I will miss the new Ages we had. Especially K'veer; it was absolutely gorgeous. And I have to agree, the full Relto was beautiful and a great escape from RL. But most of all, I will miss the opportunity to chat in real time in the Cavern with other people who hold the same passion for Myst that I do. I think that is what drew me into the community so quickly, finally finding people who were as nuts about the games as I am. And to be chatting in the Cavern just adds to that ambiance and environment. :) Its the most unique experience I've ever had, being able to run around solving Myst puzzles together with other people! Too cool!

Well, as I post this, I won't be on for the shutdown.

Please take videos or pics of any big events that happen.
