ok... big question to the Dev's ... will this cause problems with the (latest or nightly) GowPyPrp plugins ? ... should we download it? ... or wait for the "nod" from the Dev's?

No, it will not. I, for one, have been using the Blender 2.46 RC3, and now 2.46 since they came out. PyPRP runs with no problems and/or no noticeable differences. Go right ahead and get it. :D (you can consider this "a nod from the devs" if you want :P) The one really noticeable change is the merging of UV edit mode and edit mode. Now, instead of switching to UV face select mode, you can simply start assigning uv textures in edit mode.

It'd be great for me (and probably others like me) to know what about our age-creating experience changes as a result of the new version, even if it's not much. Are many of the new features useful for what we are doing here?

One line did seem promising, softer shadow light maps
