I'll be gone for a bit

Postby Lontahv » Mon Apr 27, 2009 7:59 pm

Some plans just cropped up and I'm going to be gone for 2-3 weeks or so starting tomorrow. Although I'll have an internet connection my presence online will probably be spotty since I'm sharing a computer.
Currently getting some ink on my hands over at the Guild Of Ink-Makers (PyPRP2).

Funnily enough, I'll be gone for a few weeks myself starting on May 2nd Just like Lontahv my presence will be spotty, but I can promise that when I do return I will have a special gift for all Uru fans. Unfortunately most of my free time will be spent coordinating and bringing this special present for all uru fans to life, so I'm going to take this time to accomplish this task. Before I go though I'll post the first preview of "gift" to the community.

My absence doesn't have anything to do with Lontahv's, and I'm sorry I hijacked this thread but I figured it'd be easier than to have two 'I'll be gone for a bit" threads.

Now that Lon has started it...
I'm going to Beijing for 2 weeks. I'll try to snap some nice textures.
And this time I'll try to actually post them.

No, I'm not leaving, too :D
Just wanted to wish you much fun and ask you to take care and be all right when you come back :)
Oh, Chloe, you made me curious :D Is it about the "extension pack" you already spoke about earlier?
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.

Mostly yes. I've been lacking and doing any substantial work on it, and I wish to have it fully completed and ready to launch by the end of May. But three of the major areas are hardly even modeled yet, let alone light, textured and programmed. So I want to finish my work with integrating my PyPRP changes into the latest branch, and then I'm going to focus entirely on finishing up the age creation process on the project.

Some (more) things have come up and I think they're going to take another week or two... or three. After that, I'm going be busy with various things; studying, mainly, hopefully--unless some random RL stuff comes and eats up my time :P .

Currently, I'm posting from someone else's laptop and using a rather temporary internet connection with a limit of 5GB through-put a month.

Hopefully in 2-3 weeks I should have my main computer; powerful and familiar enough to make working at it not feel like trying to set a twenty-four-hour alarm clock (to 23:59 of course) with thick leather gloves 10 sizes too big   (this doesn't have anything to do with the reality of it... no large gloves or icositetral time keeping devices involved with my computer use. Nothin' to see here folks. ;) ). After that, the limit will be the internet, that should hopefully to be resolved quickly and sweetly--meaning faster internet speeds.

This long string of slowness and delays is called a "move". More exactly, a move in the thousands of miles. Over all, things aren't too bad (apart from the long days of isolation with nothing more sophisticated than a not-so-sophisticated cell-phone between when I use this laptop with limited internet), taking for granted this absence doesn't cost me my friends here at the GoW and my councilorship.

Hope too see you soon. :D
