High Hopes for MYST

Postby Justintime9 » Mon May 24, 2010 12:05 pm

Shorah, this week I decided to take a break from age creation and work on a Myst music video. Yesterday I finished, and uploaded it. here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AQ9Bpxf5QQ

Unfortunately there's some copyright thingie that keeps it from being visible in Germany, so here's the .wmv file for anyone who can't see it. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=2776 ... 450a8c1cf1

Tell me what you think! :)

At first glance it appears to be illegal use and distribute Pink Floyd’s Intellectual Property.

Is this considered legal use and distribution of their IP?

A quick Google search would indicate other wise.

well plenty other people on Youtube make Myst or URU music videos that have music, and Youtube doesn't complain. Besides, I have another video that also has a Pink Floyd song from the same exact album, and Youtube didn't say a thing.

I enjoyed it very much. I thought it was very unique, and I liked the different camera angles and camera movements throughout the video.

Great work! :)

Good video!

Not sure about the legal stuff. I made 2 videos back during GT MOUL, with music that's copyrighted, one from BTO and Mason Williams. But then I put credit to their songs in the video itself. I figured if anyone had a problem with it, I'd pull it down. But it's been up for, what? 3 years now? The MOUL forums had the Pellet one on their site for a while too, heh.

Heh, I should do another video using BTO's "Taking Care Of Business" again, only have the video about Age Creation.......

If you ever get annoyed, look at me, I'm self-employed. I love to work at nothing all day."
-----me in a nut shell since I work as a consultant at home, and have hours and hours to work on Age creation, heheheheh. :D

thx :) And I did put the song name and artist in the credits (just not at the beginning like you did), so if they didn't have any problem with yours, I see no reason they would have one with mine.

It should be okay, but it also shouldn't be possible to infringe your own copyright ;)

Nice video :)

Sorry, a bit late due to my absence. Excellent work Justin! I enjoyed it greatly. :) The transitions are wonderfully done. I especially like the the going from the stairs in Bevin up to Takota Alley. Well done!
