Hello everybody,
From time to time, I like doing things that are a bit challenging, though totally useless . For instance...
I showed my WIP Age to Rand... well, I think he likes it !
Who wouldn't enjoy the sun and fresh air ?
That's not an Uru render, of course. I wanted to import the Male Avatar into Blender to get a look at how it was made, so I fixed a few things in PyPRP. Unfortunately importing clothes isn't working fine, so I imported a custom avatar instead. Rand Miller's of course. Although I could have imported one of Ahnonay's Quabs instead .
Then I reworked a bit the material (normal mapping, specularity color, etc).
After that, I had to re-rig him... I don't know a lot about rigging, but I can handle simple armatures. And since PyPRP imports the bone locations, it was easy to find each bone's position (although I didn't bother rigging the eyes and mouth). Blender calculated the rest.
Now, to actually make him sit... I had to rotate each bone correctly, which is simple for the legs. Crossing his arms, though, was tougher (especially the damnable fingers !).
Finally, I simply imported the mesh into my Age, and rendered it with Blender.
This is how it looks in Blender. The small thing next to him is a KI.
