Shorah explorers,

The age is now available on UAM for download on your offline install. :)

I tried today 3 times to log on Deep Island and I only succeeded once to enter in Gavster for a "long" 2 seconds. I decided to visit the age offline instead.

Here are some shots I made during my visit there:

Ghost apparition:

You should put a warning for those, like myself, who are very easy to afraid  I almost died when I went near the chests... You can bet I didn't try to open them to see their content. :)

Overall appreciation:

This is a very nice gloomy age. I really like how the sound regions have been put everywhere. When inside the maze, you hear mostly a joyful soundtrack making it less hard to travel. When in the wreck pirate ship prison area, the sounds are much darker, making us a bit uneasy since you encounter ghosts & headless skeleton :)

I like this idea of the moving rock. I hardly believe I can move such a heavy rock but what do I care about, it's for the fun of it ;)

The whole maze is very simple to solve, I know this age was made for a child, so you shouldn't have too much hard time solving it as an adult.

The objects inside the wreck pirate ship prison area are really nice. Some are novelties I never saw used in other ages which is great.

I know it lacks some interactive stuffs like the cannon but you are working on it so it's not a big deal :)

Very nicely done Calena. I put my seal of approval on it! :D

Thanks a lot for pointing us to this newly released gem, Annabelle, in the offline version too, I mean ... :P

I just explored a bit, but cannot sort out and post pictures right now, cause I've an appointment on the Gehn Shard in a few minutes ... :D

Annabelle explained everything and posted pictures already, which inspired me to look into this immediately ... So, I can absolutely agree with Annabelle on everything ... This world is very atmospheric with many great and creative ideas and details that went into it of which Annabelle mentioned a lot already ... The maze is awesome as you don't run around for hours until you find out you're on the wrong path, and thus one can more relaxed enjoy the beautifully created maze and even find some orientation after a while ... All those sporadically appearing ghosts and the ghost ship are just awesome, and the music choice is fantastic and totally fitting the environment and adventurous atmosphere ...

I congratulate you, Calena, for this extraordinary, astounding creation ... I am absolutely certain that your grandson loves it already and has to be drawn out betimes when it is time to sleep or prepare some homework and such ... Thank you for releasing this beautiful gem to the public, for all of us to enjoy ... :)

I think I'll be a brave girl you know

I didn't open up the chests but now that I see what's inside  (thanks Wam), I won't pay much attention to the ghosts :D

Congratulations, Calena! It's great! A bit of a challenge but not too much, given its target audience. And I agree, you've chosen the music really well too.

Given the appearance of the two other ghosts, I was expecting something nasty to pop out of that fishing net in the cabin - a skeleton hand perhaps? Or maybe a skeleton fish?

Blowing a hole in the cave wall with the cannon sounds a great idea. After all, we need to be able to escape, even if we won't be able to take any treasure with us, in view of its ghostly protection! :D

Terrific idea! :)

You should built a hidden tunnel to exit this prison and cover the entrance of it with maybe pile of rocks (a solid collision) so that no one can cross it. With the help of the cannon, we will blow those rocks, so you should program the collision in a way that it gets out of the way or just make the pile of rocks just less high to let us a passage after the cannon has been used. Letting us free to exit that gloomy area. ;)

Thank you everyone for your kind words. It makes me happy to think maybe I did something that brought a bit of a smile to your day :) . The part that surprised my grandson the most was that I left the head off the skeleton  .

What Acorn and Annabelle said is pretty much what I had in mind. There are also a few things in the existing section that I'd like to try improving. Being the builder, some of the results I was very happy with and others didn't quite come out as well as I would have liked. I've thought of a few things since then that might improve it. I've been working with professional artists for a couple of years to improve my skills. This little age was also my first attempt to take some of what they've taught me and put it together on my own. My son was one of my teachers and he was pleased with what I did. The only thing he's making me change is the couch, which he said looks far too modern for the scene. He's right of course, so that will need to be changed.

Oh, and then there's the music. The songs I chose were created by a man named "Kevin MacLeod"; he does great soundtracks for games and short films and such and has released all of them under a CC-BY license. The credits for this age are in a little Gavster--credits.txt file I released with the age. For anyone looking for an excellent source of free music scores, the website is Incompetech

Note to Annabelle - I'm working to improve the concept of having objects appear, disappear and then show up again at a different place. I have other ideas where I think that effect might come in useful ;) .

Edit to add a special thanks to diafero for his patience and guidance to get this thing uploaded and working correctly. The man has the patience of a saint when it comes to working with age builders!

He is a very kind man also for a pesky quest maker that want to upload her creations on a shard when it's not something "that" easy ;)
