URU:CC File corruption and ULM

So, I'm playing through URU:CC last night and started getting a corrupt file error when I tried to go to Phil's Relto.

I uninstalled and reinstalled URU, then went back to playing.

Now ULM works fine, tells me all the ages are there, but... no books.

Do I need to completely clear it out and start fresh, or what? My avvie progress didn't get lost when I uninstalled and reinstalled (don't ask me how THAT happened - but I'm grateful, since I've been redoing the entire game with that avvie and enjoying the differences between CC and MOUL.

If anyone's got any ideas, I'd appreciate it - although I probably won't be able to tell you how they work until next weekend, since I tend to stay on the Linux side unless I'm playing one of the Myst series games.

You probably just need to delete the .sav files.

I tried that, and it was a bust. So, should my next step be to uninstall the user ages or the ULM?

This isn't helped by Windows being unfriendly about my internet connection, either... I have a strong suspicion a Windows reinstall is in order
