Hm, I can't get where that access denied error comes from, this link works perfectly:
http://ulm.hbyte.net/library.php/LinkingBooks.txt, and it is the same link that ULM uses...

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I think my experiment with Vista Home Premium 64bit is about over! :(

The game won't even play now. I can get to Relto but no further. Nothing will work! :?

I think I'll go to XP Pro X64 instaed. Never had a bit of trouble getting Uru to work in that. ;)

Three possibilities:
1- missing double-quotes in the registry key (see first page of this thread)
2- missing space in "program files" (from what you posted earlier)
3- access denied to the folder (problem with rights in Vista)

Have you installed ULM using an admin account?

And perhaps Vista's User Account Control plays nasty again.

I turned it off of course, and have no problems with vista and ulm whatsoever.
In fact - much to my own amazement - I'm kinda starting to like vista.

Linky: Deactivate UAC inside Windows Vista

That, and you need to install it using an admin account.
(In fact, I don't see why you shouldn't work on an admin account all the time if you're the only user of the pc)

I solved my problem by changing to XP Pro x64. Like I should have done in the first place! :roll:

Did a copy and paste of the CC+MOUL+ULM backup and was off and running. :lol:

Got ULM down, and ages moved from Public Ages to Books on right side. ULM Settings at http:ulm.hbyte.net. Followed directions for VISTA install. When opened ubisoft no-cd patch and hit 'install' got error: couldn't find application "cypython22.dll". Repeated twice and got same result.

My URU:CC is not a clean install, as I finished the game again.

Went to a spare computer with WinXP, did clean install of URU:CC; etc. Got same error.

I have Python25 downloaded, but what to do with it?

Suggestions appreciated!

Does it work without the no-cd patch?

The official ubisoft no-cd patch does not have an installer. It is a zip file containing files you have to extract to your Uru installation folder manually. You must be running it from the wrong folder.
