Eh, no need. We all seem to like ABguy's design...

Well, lately I've been working on processing ABguy's concept sketch into a few diagrams suitable for modeling off of... Here's where I'm at so far:
Here's the design redrawn roughly, I was just trying to get an idea of the spatial relationships of the building. I was messing around with additions on the second drawing.

And just for fun, here's an earlier design of the ERC I was working on. Obviously, it's too exotic for us, but I still think it's pretty neat. The upper design is a copy of a picture of a Chinese watchtower, from with the two lower designs were based.

It is nice to see how you have divided the house in pieces. It is a good plan to do.
I am very curious to see your cat but the link is not working for me. When you fix it a can see what for mouse catcher it is !

Can we use your more faniciful version of the ERC for the pavillion?
I'd hate to lose that look... and if the pavillion is secluded from sight of the ERC I dont see how it would detract at all.

Okay doke, here's the picture of a railing and the picture of a possible door that would open to one of the viewing balconies. Do you guys think it's too Japanese or too exotic? (Those are my main concerns at this point) Actually, I'm not too satisfied with the design on the tip of the little roof, so that could be replaced. Note that the part of the balcony with directly faces you (not including the part that veers away from you at an angle) uses 336 vertices.

And its purr is like the roar of the ocean! Hehe, well, the Big Purr's looking smaller now, because it's in its summer fur. It's still an awfully big cat though! (Not to mention that it's fat. )

Meh... It's sort of large for a pavilion I would think.

What you've got there reminds me a lot of my Shoganate style sketch. If I remember right you liked that one best from the get go In fact that's why I've liked the newest incarnation so much. The outer stone wall reminded me of the bottom 2 floors in my sketch and there was the circular entry in that outer wall- which was an element I dearly wanted to incorporate but couldnt figure where to put it. What we could do is allow some heavily exotic elements with the building of the ERC and then relax the strength of oriental flavor in the garden elements. The other way to do it is with colour choices. The gray-lavender is a great modern colour that is not readily associated with the design elements we are using.

So in a nutshell... I like what you did there Jennifer
