Well, that is why I use UruPython. It does not require the installation of any older Python versions.

Bob, .pyc files are just compiled Python files. You need to decompile them to the source code (.py files).
Plasmashop has never done that for me, I've always had to decompile them first.

(I can open .py files without problems ... but sometimes people send me .pyc files too ...and those I can't )

Right. So, after you extract the .pyc files from the PAK, you hit F5 refresh the list. In the Sorted view under Python/src, it will display the recently extracted files as .py files - even though they are still pyc files. Double click one of these 'faux' py files, and it will show a dialog saying, "Decompyling...", and then it will open up the decompyled py file.

However, if you are using the "ALL files" file view in PlasmaShop, double-clicking on a pyc will just flash the DOS shell window, and there still won't be a py file. So, stick with the "Sorted" view only, and you'll be able to decompyle any pyc file.

Sheesh, when I first designed it this way, I never knew it would be so confusing! Although I do see why it is so confusing... Sorry everyone :P

So, with that in mind, I decided to release a small update today. Now, it will ask you if you want to automatically decompyle the extracted files, and it will also automatically refresh the file view when it's done. Hopefully that will make things a bit easier and/or clearer...

The new version is at http://uru.zrax.net/PlasmaShop/PlasmaShop-2.2.zip . Enjoy :)
