This was originally a New Tree topic, but with the move there are more requests, thus updates are needed. A post below this contains the original topic.

Sound:

-Ambiend sounds
-Region enabled sounds
-Hotspot enabled sounds

Surfaces:

-Texture animation
-Light reaction

GUI's

-Single pages(not books)
-Stuff like the Teledahn telescopes.

Cameras:

-Rail cameras
-Cameras swivelling in one place
-Cameras in fixed position

Animation:

-Maintainer's wall regions


Please let give me suggestions, and I'll add them to the list.

EDIT2: Started from scratch.

Still learning how to be a Mod(Why am I one again?), but since this is a "Needed things" list, I think I should pin it.

Thanks for painstakingly reproducing this thread on AgeBuilder, Kedri! I'll ask the plugin development community to look at this, in order to determine what they'll work on next.

This topic seems like one that is relevant to all ages, and not just Yevahn. Perhaps this topic should be moved to the general Age Discussion forum, under the Programming subforum?

I'm currently looking at Rail Cameras. As soon as some documents are finished reguarding related types. I (or someone else) will begin implementing them.

Sorry to drag this up again, but we should update this list with new things.

Sound:

-Ambiend sounds (plSound, etc.)
-Region enabled sounds (plSound, etc.)

Models:

-Clickables without resorting to Python (plHKPhysical)
-Shadows (plShadowMaster, plShadowCaster)

Textures:

-Animated Layers (plLayerAnimation)
-Cubic EnvironMaps (plCubicEnvironMap)

GUI's

-Single pages/notes/photographs (plGUIDialogMod, etc.)
-Stuff like the Teledahn telescopes. (plGUIDialogMod, etc.)

Cameras:

-Rail cameras (plCameraBrain_Drive)
-Cameras swivelling in one place (plCameraBrain_FixedPan)
-Cameras in fixed position (plCameraBrain_Fixed)

Animation:

-Adding new Avatar emotes and actions (plATCAnim)

Clothing:

-Building new Clothing meshes (plSharedMesh)


What the PyPRP Developers are working on:
  • Refactoring any remaining classes
  • Improving overall Plugin stability and use
  • Adding new Classes
  • Working to stabilize and prepare the plugin for other versions
  • A whole bunch of other ideas that we haven't finalized yet
Remember, the developers are open to suggestions. If you think something needs to be added to the plugin, let us know on the Alcugs fora.

You are right, there are a number of things that deserves to be added. The question is what to do first? :blink: IMHO sounds (ambient sounds for a start) is really what is lacking the most in the Age right now..
But just to make your list a bit longer I'll go post something at Alcugs :P

well to add to animation how about object animation? Am I correct in thinking that Cyan doesn't use python to do their animation? :huh:

All animation is plATCAnim. We know the format, we just don't know what the variables do or how it works.

And Aloys, I've added Sprites (plViewFaceModifier) to the list as well.

Shorah, it's me, your wonderful engine researcher. I need something to research. Or even an organized list would be nice. B) Now, I've heard that ATCAnim and LayerAnimation are wanted. So, while I'm working on those two, perhaps the rest of you could come to a consensus and make me 1 nice list of classes in the order you want me to do them in. :D That way, I can spend my time researching, instead of asking everybody what needs to be done. ;)
