What would you say if I told you I haven't found Lesson 1 to 5 easy? What can I do if I am stuck in those basic lessons, since there are no simplier ones to look back to? I'm not frusted just because I'm going slow, but because I'm going backwards... I colored two objects, now I can't do that anymore.

I did start towards the middle (and end), I very much have worrys of being stuck behind in things forever. I guess I have the "if it's worth doing, it's worth doing well" mentallity, and I hate doing things and not doing them well, thus I don't really do many things... So at first blender just seemed too complicated and I was sad but stayed away from it, but I guess I got false hope that I'd suddenly be able to do well when that classroom link was posted. So then I just get to thinking what if I simply don't have what it takes to learn/be good at this? Then I'm back to where I started with not wanting to try things.

I've made a lot of those post in frustration, normally I don't post so much... now I feel like I'm just spamming, though I don't want to not answer a message in the thread to me. I'm really sorry about this and now this thread has gone way off topic of just saying thanks to the writers! whoops

Ehren, don't worry... don't feel you have to be a 3D modeller, or be skilled in any discipline to be involved in Age writing. We all have different strengths and abilities and Age writing is as much about ideas and concepts as it is about physically producing something. There are plenty of folks here who provide much needed input via ideas, thoughts, comments, sketches and encouragement - but like yourself find Blender and the physical construction of an Age just too daunting. Whatever you bring to the forum, it is both appreciated and most welcome.

Hehe I don't mind this thread going off topic, if you don't :) Since we both seemed to have started this course at the same moment, I don't mind being "stuck behind" with you at all... I find myself rather uncreative and unimaginative but I do have an affection for knobs & buttons (as long as they are digital ;) )... perhaps with you it is the exact opposite. In our house it is Murray who has all the ideas, and I always wonder how DOES he think them up. Today and over the weekend I am going back to lessons 1 to 5 again, and leave lesson 6 alone until I feel ready. Care to do it with me? I find Jennifer and pappoe and all the others too very helpful and friendly. Let's do it Ehren, you and I, and baffle the world! :D

I am so glad you made this offer to Ehren, Sophia. I thought of it myself last night, but i just do not know enought to tell anyone else where they may be wrong and what is the better way.

This is very good. And if youall don't mind being public with your learning, i feel certain you will uncover things that will help me. In fact, i would like to tag along with you -- when i have the time.

Then, about the end of this month, Jennifer should be through with her finals and she will be available to pull us out of any quaaagmires.

It occures to me, Ehren, that learning just a bit about Blender should help you to install and use the ULM software, and to better appreciate the work that so many people have put in on the small ages. It surely cannot hurt you in enjoying the trips back into Uru.

At the other end, there seems to be a growing interest in a larger cooperative venture, and as D'eux says, there would be plenty of room there for your talents. Perhaps, even for mine?

Thank you for persisting, Ehren. Keep at it.

/me waves to Sophia and Murray!!!

It's good to see the two of you here :) I too have been most impressed with the quality of the fan created ages being released recently. Much of that has to do with the tremendous strides in the Blender plugin over the last year. So the plug-in programming team needs to take a bow for their efforts :) Of course, you need some artistic talent in 3D Modeling and design. So Jennifer's classroom is a example of the team spirit here to bring us closer to Cyan quality ages. After seeing what D'eux and others are up to privately, I think we are there.

I would love to be able to spend more time working with Blender, but with me getting married soon, I barely have enough time with my personal life as it is :) So it will have to be one of my many other projects to put on the "To Do" list. But it's fun watching the progress being made here by the developers, modelers, and artists.

That's the plan Robert :) Right now we are hoping her Condo sells as they will make the move here to Spokane that much easier. We are finalizing some of the details of the wedding now but most everything is done, or a deposit has been made to hold the date which is August 16th. So after that date, I'll be another happily married man that gets handed the immediate "honey do" list :)
