What happened to all the ages?

Postby Kierra » Wed Sep 17, 2008 9:58 pm

Maybe its just me, but the ages listed in the ULM manager are not downloading for me at all.

Oddly enough, the only age that is DLing for me is Aerie. Which, while "yay" for me, I'd certainly like to visit some of the Ages created by other folks here :D

Most of them start to download, then they drop off...then they come up with a "no connection to server" error after a few minutes. Half the time I have to ctrl+alt+del ULM because it becomes non-responsive.

Anyone have any ideas what's going on?

Thanks,
~Kia

Make sure your ULM settings are pointing to: http://ulm.hbyte.net/library.php

You may be using an outdated library.

Hmm, ok... Well, everything works for me there. Next suggestion: firewall?

Also check the Windows firewall even if you use another one. Windows servicepack updates for example turn the Windows firewall back on.

Checked firewall and added ULM as an exception, but it didn't help, still getting "no server connection"

Nearly all of the ages are hosted by the GoMa. Maybe they are working on their site again. Can you try one that is hosted elsewhere? For example BoxAge or TunnelDemo3?

Box age and tunnel demo seem to have loaded just fine, nothing else so far works.

Ok, that tracks down the problem to the GoMa URL. The problem must be on your end because I just dowloaded an age from there without interruptions at 80 KB/s.

Does the GoMa website show up when you visit it?
