My opinion is to keep the time limit the same. The contest is really to test your skills during a limited time period. Also, it's hard to make the judges all available at the same time.
However, once the contest is over, those of you who didn't get their entries in on time or had dropped out can always make your ages available whenever they're finished and solicit public opinion - just like any regular age.
What do the other panelists and judges think?

Re: Another RAD Contest Proposal
To me the extension to the 3 week limit is to me the upper limits for "Rapid", I would have preferred to have kept it to 2 weeks. It was only because of feedback that it was more fair to be 3 weeks while more than that, would just become a bore, "Is it over yet?".
Also because the build time is 3 weeks and judging 1 week, we can say that the contest occupies an entire (28 day) month.
I should also point out that in the first contest which I had entered, it was some months after that that I got the majority of the bugs out to present the Shell to a reasonable level of quality, still loads to do, mostly for functionality in the plugin or python coding in some way other than a template (D'Lanor' template was used in my Shell)
It still stands that if you can't budget time for 2 or 3 weeks, then no amount of extensions will improve on anything significant.
These are just my opinions only

Re: Another RAD Contest Proposal
Could I get a clarification here? I was messing around in Andy's Age (very nice, by the way) and I noticed that there were some textures from Cyan ages there (the clouds from Noloben and the mountains from Payiferen were the ones I immediately noticed). I thought that we had to make all the stuff for the RAD age ourselves. Otherwise I would have used the kemo statue stone texture for the idol/statue in my age. Or was there a Cyan texture exemption that wasn't put on the wiki page?

Re: Another RAD Contest Proposal
There was a discussion further up this thread about that. The RAD rules said everything made from scratch. Some of us have rebelled about that. Cyan reused their own textures all over the place and across Ages. If you made everything yourself Whillyam then good for you! I also stepped into your Age, and your textures look very good.
Yes my sky is from Noloben (and this is rather unusual.....most RADS the contestants don't come here and start blabbing about someone elses Age, but that's okay), as it fit. The mountains are NOT from Payiferen (sorry, try again,
). Some stones textures are from Zephyr, some other textures are from Camp Bravo, still others I made from scratch using Genetica and GIMP Shop.
EDIT: Actually, here is what the Wiki RAD Rules say:
"The age must be started from scratch - no reusing previous content."
I read that as: "You can't take an age that you have already made, or have been making and use that." Nothing in there about not being allowed to use textures made else where, or that you must make your own textures.
However, if the judges disqualify me for using some of Cyan's textures  that's okay. But I do feel sorry for anyone that just spent the last 3 weeks making a small "Hood" Age in the cavern for the RAD...........

EDIT: Actually, here is what the Wiki RAD Rules say:
Each entry must conform to the following guidelines:
* The age must be started from scratch - no reusing previous content.
* The explorable extents of the age must fit within a 200x200x200 cube, measured in Blender units.
o Note: the sky dome and other non-explorable scenery can lie outside this cube.
* All entries must conform to RAWA's Age Writing Guidelines.
* Ages can include any features that the latest PyPRP plug-in has to offer.
* Only one person can work on the age.
o You may request technical assistance, but you must ultimately produce all content yourself.
* You must obtain a unique sequence prefix for your age.

We have made it quite clear several times over that you cannot use textures, models etc used by Cyanworlds.
I do agree with you that more distinction should be made, as I welcome reuse of your own stuff or stuff that has been donated to you without charge

Re: Another RAD Contest Proposal
And Cyan made it quite clear to many of us that emailed and talked to Mark (aka Chogon) that we CAN use their textures. We have even announced and posted this here in this forum.
No problem. I've just removed my Age from the RAD contest. I may or may not resubmit it by tomorrow.
I know this WILL be my last time entering a RAD however.

Oh, I did not know that Cyan said it was ok to use their stuff, but I do hope you'll change your mind later on, you are a really great Age writer
there is still enough time to use your own texture if you want as your skydome, I know that you have done it in the past with Zephyr Cove and Camp Bravo
