After looking at the results of the pedestal poll, you can see that number 4 had the highest number of votes. However, as we discussed, it would not work for the nexus. We can still probably use that pedestal for other parts of the city though.

So I guess we’re going to use the runner up (9) for the nexus.

I’m going to make 3D models of both those pedestals.

Edit -
Some initial designs (I've changed it quite a bit from the concept ) :

Edit -
Some preliminary textures: We're still going for the more industrial/metal look right?

I love it! Great job. Where did you get the patterned texture?

Wonderful, Besharen! It looks so solid I feel like I can touch it! :D

Since the theme of the city seems to be based on the triangle, what sort of repeatable triangular pattern can you dream up for the inset textures?
Can we rebuild it? Yes, we can - here's how.

Nice work.
I have to say though I liked your original concept because of the round lines onthe sides which reminds me of the shells walls. That said, it is great as it is.

Thanks for the comments. Here are some ponits:

* Keep in mind that those renders are from Cinema 4D - it won't look nearly as good when I import it into Blender. I'll also have to redo the textures in Blender, which will be a pain.

* I'll see what I can do to add those round curves back into the design.

* I'll try to make/find a triangular pattern for the texture.

* I got the patterned texture from a free texture website a couple years ago...I'll try to find the exact one for you TE.

EDIT: TE, I'm 90% sure it came from this site: http://lemog.free.fr/lemog_v5/index.php?cat=4 If you want to look through the hundreds of textures, it's probably there somewhere..

This is for the angled version. Still haven't done anything with the round curves or the textures yet, but that's coming soon!

I too was wondering that, though the slant does make sense.
