The state of realMyst in Drizzle is that it can read and understand each and every bit in the realMyst files. It can parse the whole age information, geometry, textures, UV mapping, animations, everything. The "only" thing that is missing is code which uses this information, and builds a brand new Plasma2 age from it (something that could be used in Uru). Unlike Myst V or MOUL, you do not just have to convert different formats of the same Plasma class into each other (but keep the overall structure), but build a Plasma2 file from scratch, with the geometry and UV and whatnot information available - exactly the job PyPRP is doing.
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.

Ideally, this would come with not only Rime, but every single Age that Atrus mentions in passing in his library journals, and the harvest Age referenced at the end of BoA. :P Call it... I dunno... TrueMyst.

I've always dreamed to see the original Myst assets ported to real time 3D. Those were created for pre-rendered work in 1993, and could totally work perfectly for real-time on today's hardware. I enjoyed a lot (and still occasionnaly do) realMyst; but IMO nothing beat the original version. ;)
And Riven.. (although the village in the Jungle island would need some seriously beefy hardware to be rendered in real-time with a decent framerate)

Yeah, Riven...
I think it was the coolest age/game Cyan ever made. It's such a shame that the prerendered graphics look pretty bad on modern hardware. Back in the 20th century it looked really great!
One day I ran through the cleft for the fiftieth time, and found that uru held no peace for me anymore.

So, I see no reason to drop maintainer symbols all over it. =P where Uru and Myst V contradict eachother, Uru is the one that is Canon. =)

The only MYST I have seen in URU is just the library. You never see the island or anything else.

Yes, it is just the library, but, the library is essentially the same version as in realMYST, and doesn't have the damage (and other things), from MystV. ( It even has the realMYST Rime pedestal. =) )

Also, noting the Myst sequence from Myst V never happened, canonically. =)

Or, at least, that's what we've been told, roughly. <g>

I already mentioned the Rime shelf.

Yes, I am aware you did. =P

It was however relevant to what I said, as well.

However, the note that the uru myst has the rime pedestal isn't really relevant for anything else other than knowing the uru "canon" myst is, perhaps, closer to realmyst =)

Yeah, I haven't touched it in a bit now, but I did revisit it at one point, and can now read the syntax of all data. (Which was a much more monumental task than reverse-engineering Uru, actually.) As Fero says, it now directly creates the prp files, and I can link to those. I've been to an (ugly) Channelwood :P It just isn't a very high priority right now.

Would you be so kind to share some screenshots? :)

It also isn't a high prority because they not only would have to bring it in, they would have to show the years and years of degredation (unless every Age is to be restored before we get there). I do hope we get to see them, Chroma'Agana (or however you spell that would be fun too, as well as the Myst III Ages. Yeesha could probably write us a link to Riven which would be pretty cool. But then again there are all those new places as well.

Yes, the years of degredation, like when you chose one of the 2 wrong endings in MYST V. I know people are saying that the MYST V island isn't cannon, but whether Doctor Watson went there or not that linking book was there. Whether Doctor Watson sees it or not, CYAN made the island to look like that, and that is most likely what it would look like now.

So I still propose an idea of finding a way out of that library, and finding a similar ruined MYST island that explorers have now restored physically.
