Indeed. But if it's a pointless petition you want, why not try getting back the interns' admin rights? That way, if it works (despite astronomical odds!) there will be a much greater payoff.
Clearly you don't know me very well...
Ah, crap. It was sarcasm, wasn't it? And I didn't pick up on it.
I think I just alienated myself from the last of Uru's community.
If I had a signature, this is where it would be...

And then we have the people who assume the other side hates Cyan's guts because god forbid they have a disagreement or two regarding what choices they're making.
Tell me, have you ever disagreed with anything Cyan has done?
Of course. On more than one occasion, I have disagreed with some things Cyan has said or done.
However, I have never been disrespectful or insulted them. I'd come off as a jerk as I stated in my previous post. If I feel I may be ignorant about the issue, I ask a Cyan Employee, or someone else who has knowledge about the information on the matter before fully forming an opinion, rather than jump to a conclusion instantly.
No we have contacted them in a civil a manner, and as usual it has yielded nothing. Some of us have been making suggestions for years on how to improve things, and they fall on deaf ears.
Let me use an analogy here. Imagine you're at the doctor's office and you're not being called in for a long time. Which would be more effective: Going up the the secretary and complaining in a rude spiteful way, then storming out of the building, or going up the secretary and politely inquiring what is keeping the doctor?
By storming out and insulting her you first of all don't get what you came there for, and second of all create general resentment from the office, that may give you a negative reputation. If you ask politely however you may get a reasonable answer and may only have to wait a bit longer, plus you are on good terms with the employees.
The same goes for cyan. It can be frustrating to have to wait, and see cyan doing things we disagree with, but being a jerk about it does no more good than "contacting them in a civil manner".

Depends. Have you been waiting on this doctor for years?

If you read what Tweek wrote, you would see that we have contacted them in a civil manner. Many times. Over many years.

It's not... most of us have given up hoping things will get better. That's why a significant portion of the community has left the game for better things, or sunken into the woodwork, or just outright doesn't care what Cyan says anymore.
Dealing with Cyan today is the same as dealing with Cyan six years ago. You just don't make any progress.
Insults, personal attacks, Spitefulness, bitterness, and the overall negative attitude directed at cyan.

Then why even bother? If they won't listen, what's the point? What's to gain by sarcasm and negativity if it will not change anything?
No company will allow it's fans or customers dictate policy to them. No company will allow it's fans or customers who gets hired or fired.
Sure, if you walked into a store and are treated rudely by a sales rep, or other employee, you can bring it to management's attention. But unless the store employee actually committed some sort of criminal act upon you, you will not get to see any satisfaction. Reprimands, disciplinary actions.....these are done behind closed doors, rarely out in the open. If at all. I can't tell you how many times a unreasonable customer has walked into Walmart, treated my wife and her fellow workers behind the deli counter like bags of crap, and then insisted to speak to management. Result: A $20 gift card given to the customer, with management rolling their eyes and not saying a word to the employees, because it was not something they did (no joke. They have PROS that come in and do this all the time as they know they'll get something for free if they scream loud enough).
However, there are employees that will treat a customer badly too. But again, the customer will NEVER get the satisfaction of seeing the disciplinary action take place. That's against company policy. And no matter how much customers may demand to see action like that, it will never happen, as the store is not going to change that policy.
So unless any of us were a fly on the wall, there is no way to know. We can ASSUME that nothing was done. We could ASSUME that he may have been talked to. The only thing we know for sure is that new rules were posted.
I'm neither defending Cyan, nor saying anything against them. I merely point out the obvious: No company will allow their fans or customers to dictate policy to them. Ever.
You do have software companies that do listen to their fans. Sometimes you see changes, sometimes you do not. Some companies are more open about things, other companies are very closed and secret. That's just how the world works.
Getting up in Cyan's face about things won't solve anything. When did it ever? Look back over the last, what? 12 years or so? When did getting up in their faces and demanding things every work?
You can try being polite too, but that won't guarantee anything either. Again, it's just how some companies do things. But it might work better than getting in their faces and making demands. I've rarely seen that ever work. Put yourself in their shoes. What would be your reaction of someone did that to you? I can tell you it doesn't work with me. I stop listening to that person right away. Especially if they don't work for me.
If a person comes up to me calmly and outlines their suggestions, ideas, and reasons in a polite manner, I'll listen to them. But the bottom line will still be mine, whether they like it or not.
And that's the bottom line. It's their company, their forum. They'll run it the way they see fit. No matter how messed up we the fans may think it is. And that's because they, like most companies, are not about to let Fans dictate policy to them.
