I may be a Lurker and hide or slither in the underbrush as my name states and implies. But I also support and stand behind Bad's statement and goal. We are here to update, modify, add content and create new Ages to and for URU. To furthermore aid, teach and enable others to also do the same. Having said this, I will now slither back into the underbrush...

I'm not in BAD's 'we'.

I think there are other important things here, beyond modding and creating Ages. I like to hear people's descriptions and see their drawings, of an Age they'll never build. To me, it doesn't have to be built to be good. For some people, it tells a little about themself; perhaps their ideal home, or what they find interesting.

I also think that when it comes to being a good person, how one behaves here is important. Some people say "It's just a game", or "It's just a forum", and while that's true, there are real people with real feelings involved... and ethereal pain is much worse than physical pain. And one will carry what they learn about how to treat people here, into their everyday life too.

It's so very far from unimportant.

I'm with both BAD and ddb174. I'm here to make Ages. Blender/Plasma/etc. are one way to accomplish that, but not the only way.
Have Ages, and link to them without bindings. [Words 1:13]

Thus far, my role on this forum has not been to mod Uru or make Ages. It's been to try really hard and then procrastinate indefinitely. :P

Whose 'wee' is the one that makes the lake algae glow? 'Cause I don't wanna be part of that 'wee'.
Can we rebuild it? Yes, we can - here's how.

I don't exclude any form of modding Uru. Uru is more than just the game files. Anyone who writes one sentence of fan fiction is (in my mind) modding Uru. No matter what stage of a project someone is at here, as long as they share it with us then it's cool.

Also, I agree with you about behavior. I can control my behavior, however I will not try to alter, or shape others behavior just because I think it's important. If we all focus on improving ourselves and our skills in modding (writing stories, drawing pictures, creating tools, designing ages, etc.) than there is no need to worry about what others think of us. It seems that some in the *community* wants to treat the GOW as one entity, but like some jellyfish, the GOW is a conglomerate of individuals contributing to the whole.

And yet if a jellyfish were to sting me, I would probably not occupy my time with singling out the actual individuals involved, but would probably be thinking along the lines of "Bad jellyfish. No...er...whatever the subaqueous equivalent of a biscuit is." Blaming the whole for the actions of the few, you see. It happens, wrongly but understandably, and not just with jellyfish.
