Firstly, let me just say it's really cool to hear about that massive fan storyline with all kinds of things for it.
Secondly it sucks that Moula has some issues.
But in the mean time there is a lot we can do with just avatars, Imagers, and some great storytelling. That's my goal for right now. OHB for example is doing some fun stuff with a Puzzle and a fake bomb. That was my goal with this, show them what we can do with almost nothing and let them imagine what we can do with all the toys as well as just bring some new life to the Cavern. Anyway I need time to ask Hoikas for a space to start putting up the stories...
Well goodnight

I'm almost fairly certain I could redo a few of the broken toys Cyan has left us if we could get our hands on the 3d models of them. (Namely the Wall. Yes. I'm fairly confident I could actually fix that thing with their plugin, if I could import the wall into Blender I could then export it to max and have all the stuff I need to get that damn thing working again. I nailed down the climbing blockers in their plugin that control the walls.
Don't fool yourself into thinking it is fixed once it is climbable.

Technically the link to the maintainers' nexus (whether fake or true) is a link within the same age which is against the D'ni linking rules anyway. So you'd have to separate the maintainers' nexuses (yes, there are two) from Gahreesen. Then you need to make them sub ages of Gahreesen to ensure (in a multiplayer environment) that people link back to the same instance they were playing in.
Then there is a bug with the blockers which would not properly reset when a new game was started. Next you'll probably want to wire some of the other incomplete stuff like the scoreboard imagers. Oh, and there was also a bug that makes the quitting team win when they press the quit button (this was fixed for D'mala). Not that it mattered much due to the non-functional scoreboards.

D'lanor, just because technically the maintainer's nexus is in the same age, does not mean it is in the Age, ICly. =)

I'm not sure what you mean. In a multiplayer environment (Alcugs anyone?) the AGE PLAYERS chat in the KI will clearly show that people who just linked away to the Maintainers' Nexus are still in the same age. So it must be fixed. Period.
It is kind of sad that most people don't think in terms of multiplayer environments. Yes, for Uru CC it would be fine to keep the status quo of course.

Yeah, those should be separate Ages. Drizzle has the ability to distill certain parts of an Age, starting from a list of objects that must certainly be included, and find all their dependencies, and distill that into a new separate Age. So separating the maintainers' nexi can be done, if it comes to that.

May be a silly question.
Is there somewhere a tutorial which explains what the key issues are to make an age multiplayer ready.
or the other way around,
when can an age not be used as a multiplayer environment?
Those wonderfull Worlds are called " Ages" , because that is what it takes to build one.

The hard part would be to make the interactive parts of your age multiplayer compatible, but it would be unfair to expect that from writers who do not have a shard to test on. All I am hoping for is that writers think about aspects that could break the suspension of disbelieve in a multiplayer environment, such as the example I mentioned of age chat in the KI.

There it was actually hard to convince the climbtrigger to let go of the avatar during the fake link to the maintainers' nexus. Often it would hold the avatar pinned to the wall and transport only its camera view (both 1st and 3rd) to the maintainers' nexus. I finally managed to squeeze this bug by making that a true link, which resets the avatar state. Unfortunately this fix came too late to be implemented into D'mala.Technically the link to the maintainers' nexus (whether fake or true) is a link within the same age which is against the D'ni linking rules anyway. OH Believe me I know of the problems with the wall despite the climbing stuff. Both IC and the actual bugs.
You think that the link to the Nexi are only JUST against the D'ni linking rules. How about the fact that there is no actual book you're linking with. Apparently you just touch the quit button, or the top of the wall, and you link - At fracking Will! The only explanation to this and the fact that the Nexi are in Garrison is that you're not really linking but teleporting. But then you shouldn't have the linking sound at all but an entirely new one.

Problems like this can be solved by storyline.
The Garrison is a training area and like all training area you make the environment as close to operational conditions as possible with artificialy produced conditions. So a teleport as you suggest would probably be accompaanied by the linking noise produced by some other method.
Consider a flight simulator (a real one not one of these PC things) has the sound of the engines reproduced in the simulated cockpit but you would not suggest that an aircraft simulator has an engine running beside it so the noise is correct. Sound is a significant part of environmental awareness reproducing a realistic link noise to accompany a simulated linkout is not outside the realms of a training facility.

For all we know in terms of sound a link and a telleport may sound exactly the same.

I think I remember someone saying that there was a separate GarrisonNexus Age back in Choru, but it was probably abandoned due to the lack of child Ages (sub Ages? I'm always confused about those two)

Remember that Maintainer Suits (at least the ones described in BoD) had linking books in the gloves that could be enabled under certain conditions (timing, button press, etc.)
