Their reasons for not wanting it in the thread are reasonable. However, all of this could have been avoided if that had been stated in the first place, when the first post was deleted.
Instead they let the issue build, almost as if they were hoping to find an excuse to suspend and ban people...
EDIT: And it seems that the whole topic is gone now. For those who missed it, the (mostly final) version is available in my archive: Archive
Revenge of the Nonsense
Re: Revenge of the Nonsense
Whilyam: your post was asking for trouble. I don't approve that it was deleted without at least telling you, but don't act surprised that it was deleted..
Adam's post was certainly asking for trouble as well. You don't insult mods and hope to get away with it..
Don't ask for trouble, don't push people's buttons and you'll see that life is way easier.
Listen I don't say that the mod's actions are 100% correct, but at the end of the day they are the mods, whether you like it or not, and they can delete anything they want without telling anyone. Yes they can, read the rules again. What that you say? Democracy? Free speech? Read the forum rules again; this isn't a public space this place belongs to a company of which we are simple guests. If you have a problem with any of all this tell RAWA, and do it in a civil, structured (and if possible concise) manner. That, or live with it. Or move to another forum.
But at any rate please stop whining about it publicly all day long. Especially here; I just check the 'new posts' page here and the first 3 topics are about Cyan's moderation policies...
And again; if you don't like the way the place is handled and you think you can't change that, at worst don't go there anymore.

Re: Revenge of the Nonsense
My post wasn't asking for trouble when I posted it. I had no way of knowing that mentioning EtN's title = discussing moderation disputes. The mods saw it as more obvious.
Regardless, RAWA and Denis had a chat and I've been PMing him back and forth and things resolved themselves. Both sides made assumptions and/or other stupid mistakes and our discussions proved why Cyan/fan communication is important.
One-on-one chats would make resolving disputes a lot easier.
So, you probably won't see as much on moderation. Denis made a good point that we need to give the moderators some time. So, consider this a "reset" and we'll see what happens from here.

We'll see. One can hope.

I am glade to hear there is discussion rather then endless blame and flame.

Whilyam wrote:I haven't seen veralun do any moderating since then. This is what I worry about: that veralun (or any future problem moderator who exploits this) will just lay low for a while and then return to the same practices later.
And this was proven correct. Veralun is returning to his old ways, and the message is getting more and more redacted. They asked for more time.. they've been given more time, yet things are slowly happening again. Fancy that. For a period of time, veralun was moderating invisibly, as well.
I'm going to give it a little more time, before I advocate a restart of the drama, but, just letting people know what's going on. =)
EDIT: (also, I've had to remind the moderators to notify me when my posts are being deleted/edited, its improved a bit, but, I haven't had too many things deleted terribly recently.)
EDIT: also, the mere mention of the offline ki and drizzle (which have been fine before, in previous threads, infact, in a topic that was later made a sticky, I mentioned Drizzle /multiple/ times.) meant a post of mine got reported, and, I had to edit it out of my post.
EDIT: Stickied topic is here: was moderated several times, however the mention of drizzle was apparently ok, there... but not in another topic. http://mystonline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21347
EDIT: Supposedly, I've heard things /are/ in progress, to prevent some issues - perhaps this was a little early. >.> (heard this /after/ posting this >.<)

Re: Revenge of the Nonsense
You mentioned Alcugs by name and survived for5 5 days?

I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.

I could have sworn alcugs was the only thing deemed acceptable.
