GOG is in Trouble
It looks as if GOG (Good Old Games) is down and off the Air. According to Kotaku and Facebook The company has been bought and is under major restructuring.

What's the situation with Steam?

Shouldn't be an issue I believe they are two seperate entities.
Re: GOG is in Trouble
I meant, is Uru:CC available on Steam, and is it feasible to do with a Steam installation all the neat things that one can do with a GOG installation?

Re: GOG is in Trouble
I don't know I was able to do it with the GoG instalation in fact I have a triple instalation with my UAM pointing at one copy off my Uru CC instal my Drizzle CC install and my DI off of the GoG install all seperate and none of them Steam.
Re: GOG is in Trouble
The problem with the Steam version is that it has the Steam DRM on it, and I don't recommend that people buy it because of problems with fan Ages. (If someone figures out a way to get it working, please post a tutorial.) Gog.com copies that people have bought will continue to work despite Gog.com closing down. Fortunately, there are still bazillions of copies of Uru on eBay worldwide, so don't fret!

Re: GOG is in Trouble
OK there has been an update from GOG -- they've made the following statement:
On Wednesday there will be an official statement from their management concerning the ongoing events.
EDIT nothing is being said about being able to purchase further games from them or if they will continue in their effort of bringing new life into Olde Games
we guarantee that every user who bought any game on GOG.com will be able to download all of their games ----- DRM-free ----- starting this Thursday.

Actually, its been proven(-ish) now that the Steam release does work - the issues I reported initially turned out to be a bug with the MOUL (I *think* it was the MOUL conversion, at least) conversion using Drizzle 26 (fixed in 27). =)
I can, however, do further testing, if someone wants a definite test. =)
EDIT: Tested again. it works.

Yes, I also have reports of people successfully using a steam installation for Deep Island. Since all the prp files are checked for consistency on startup, that means that the files are exactly the same as on the CD version.
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.
