How do you light an avatar?

Postby bnewton81 » Tue Feb 22, 2011 2:04 pm

I feel I've tried everything. I have put 10's of lights in my age pointed directly down walkways and such, so that they would light anything that was in front of them, i.e. my avatar, and it doesn't work. I can light all the age, but i can't get a single photon onto my avatar.

I'm a little vague on this sort of technical detail, but you may have to set up certain kinds of lights, or set the lights up in a certain way. See here if you haven't yet.

I guess I missed that post at the time but as you mentioned there is indeed a problem with spot lamps in Blender. Their calculation in PyPRP is currently wrong. The angle value is multiplied by Pi when it shouldn't. So only if you use very small angles < 30 will it act as a true spot. This error becomes evident if you try to use spot lamps as projection lights.
