But that's not entirely correct: UU online is NOT unavailable. All you need is a server that works. There are ways to get Cyan's old UU server running (see for example the Slacker's Shards), and Alcugs can also server as UU server - maybe this needs some fixes though.
For the same reason, TPOTS online is not the same as Alcugs: TPOTS Online needs a server that speaks the TPOTS protocol (which is almost, but not perfectly, identical to the UU protocol). Alcugs happens to be the only one doing that, *but* Alcugs does more, it also speaks the UU protocol.

I was just wondering, if their is a way to produce a patch for the Gahreesen wall for those of us who are technically challenged

I guess it would be a good idea. I guess it wouldn't be a problem to post .uof for Wall fixes. The best would be for Nexus/Nexii (or however you call them) and the GlobalAvatars... If you want, I can attach some files (should be probably even better in fact).

That would be great, although I found out someone got it working some time ago I was never able to figure it out myself. thats why I suggested a Gahreesen Wall Patch. Something dummy proof that I would be able to figure out. In addition it might be worth thinking about setting up one or both of the two open shards with the wall to test it in a multi-player environment

Well, I don't know how to make a real patch that would automate the work, and I prefer to avoid distributing Cyan files.

However here is a folder with .uof files, some instructions and a .pak file. It should be enough. But you'll still need an UU install to have some necessary files.

I even found a way to add the Maintainer Suit to the Relto. However it WON'T prevent bugs if you are wearing the suit before dropping yourself in the Wall area.

I haven't got enough time to test all of it, but it should work.
