Shorah and welcome, I hope you will have a good time here!

I am also Fluent in D'ni Writing
 wow that's impressive, half a sentence, as if that was for granted...
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.

Hi folks,

Just now joining up with GoW, which is hilarious considering how long I've wanted to be a part of something like this.
Myst is one of the reasons I got a degree in Animation from an art college in San Francisco, and back during the Uru Live days I was chomping at the bit to be able to join a Writers Guild that actually got to Write. Didn't happen then, but I'm thrilled to see an active community here!

My main talents are in modeling, texturing, and lighting design, though I'll admit I don't have a ton of experience optimizing for performance (yet). I'm also a musician, with a digital synth suite if anyone needs music.

Welcome, redkat!

If you browse the forums, you'll be sure to find folks and groups of folks that are looking for modellers/texturers, or if you have some ideas of your own but need assistance with the scripting side of the process, there are plenty of those folks around too! Glad to have you here, perhaps we shall be able to collaborate on something someday! (i do concept art, and am a beginner modeller.)

Edit: Also, if you have any examples of your work, I'm sure we'd all love to see! (Check out the Building and Art and Story forums to see some of our work too)

I am new here. I got Myst back in high school, but only managed to get ahold of a single-player version of Uru in 2012. I thought the online version was dead, but just last week learned it was back up (and had been for years) and joined. I was intrigued by the Writers Bar and wondered if there was an actual Age-making Guild, came here, and found there was! Very thrilled to be here!

I have done some drawing, and I flunked out of programming, but my main strength is in writing. I'm an English grad student aspiring to be a writer, so if anyone needs help with story-writing, or if they want a decent concept for an age, or even if they need a letter/journal written to provide exposition in their Age, I am more than happy to help.

Welcome Afalstein,
I believe that good storywriters are necessary to develop mature ages.
In my opinion its not the same as writing a "normal" story.
You must be able to bend the story towards the technical capabilities of the writer/coder.
Not all ideas can easily be realised by them, we all have our limitations.
In my experience i often first notice those limitations during building.
Then i have to find something else what i can do.
I can use a story for my age, a story that explains why a puzzle is in my age.
It actualy have to explain what the explorer is supposed to do., why the age is there, how did the first explorer find it.etc.
My english is not good enough for it, as it is not my native tongue.
Besides that, the building itself already consumes all my available time, and i am not a storywriter.
If you think you could do it, and are willing to build a story around an 75 percent finished age, pls let me know.
Those wonderfull Worlds are called " Ages" , because that is what it takes to build one.

I believe I could, or at the very least I think I could try. Would you mind sending me a description or pictures of the puzzle and age? I can probably work from there. Did you have any ideas yourself as to what the story or purpose of the age would be?
