Korman 0.03 Released!

After... entirely too long... and 18 commits, Korman 0.03 is available for your use!

Here's the full changelog:
  • Added a half-baked Plasma Light panel
  • Added Link To Age Node
  • Added option to export kAlphaTestHigh for draw order phailures
  • Added Soft Volumes
  • Added Visibility Regions and Effect Visibility Sets
  • Fixed a bug in which meshes would be exported as lamps
  • Fixed an infinite recursion bug with parented objects
  • Fixed a Python traceback in the Water wind settings
  • Improved alpha texture "ADD" blend mode

This was a very modest release. I am hoping that v0.04 will come more quickly than this release :)

Hoikas, you might want to correct that link... It actually links to version 0.02 of the Korman installer ;)

Meanwhile, I managed to download the new installer from here.

Blender 2.77 is nearly upon us--the second release candidate was unleashed sometime this week. You need to know that the previous Korman installers will not work properly with any 2.77 release. This is not because Korman itself will not work with Blender 2.77. Rather, it is because Blender 2.77 upgrades from Python 3.4 to Python 3.5. Korman utilizes libHSPlasma and its own C++ library for several export tasks. These packages must be built for specific versions of Python. The installer detects this and refuses to let you shoot yourself in the foot. The current plan is to release Korman 0.04 installer with support for 2.77 and above only. This will happen sometime after the Blender 2.77 final release.

Of course, you could compile all the Korman dependencies from source and use whatever Blender version you want. :ugeek:

That's good to know, I might have installed the 2.77 version had you not warned us.

I wish I could build HSPlasma myself, but well... I've never had any luck building anything using cmake and visual studio :| I think I'll just wait patiently ;)

Anyway, on a completely unrelated note: it seems Korman always exports my textures upside down. I know this has something to do with images being converted with OpenGL, and Korman worked around it by inversing uvs in the layer properties, which it seems it doesn't do anymore. Is that a bug with version 0.03 ? Or maybe that's because I'm using code that I fetched on Github.

Not a big issue for me, as currently my Ages are mostly textureless, but believe it or not, upside-down textures are enough to render my skydome pink and yellow :P

Korman 0.04 exports images right-side up. This has been fixed in the C++ library and the pure python implementation, so the UV-flipping has been removed ;)

You could delete _korlib.pyd to get the improved functionality, but you will be sacrificing export speed.

Nah, I simply edited exporter/mesh.py so that it flips UVs again. This will be enough until the file is overwritten by the 0.04 installer.
