Forum Suggestions

[Robert The Rebuilder]

I wanted to echo a recommendation by andylegate and request an "Other" forum category that lies outside the Department Discussions. Since the number of people at this site is growing every week, we need somewhere to socialize and have discussions that lie outside the realm of Writing (and Myst/Uru as well). Subcategories could be Off-Topic, Feedback, Fun and Games, and Test. [For example, this "Forum Suggestions" topic would belong in the Feedback forum instead of General Discussion]

I'm always wary of adding too much subforums, most of the time they just end up having only a couple posts in each one. While we do have new members each day I don't think we have enough to warrant that many forums (yet). Especially when most of us frequent other Uru-related forums where there are already such forums. I agree a Off-topic/general discussion would be welcome, but I don't think we need more than that..
Just my opinion, I don't specifically care either way.

Such a need is a good sign. If the forum users only want to post on topic, they don't form a community.
When you see something interesting and you can't wait to tell your buddies at GoW, then you have a community.

Since this board was opened, I've spent less and less time on UO and the official forum. So basically I'm saying yes, an "off-topic" forum would be nice.
