Chacal wrote:My advice would be to forego ULM entirely for submissions. This would avoid lots of frustrations from submitters.
Set up a FTP server with a separate account for each submitter. Have them upload zip files.
Shut the server down when the deadline is reached.
Then the contest organizer can post the Ages to ULM without pressure.
I can provide the FTP server if needed.
We can do that, but i'm thinking more on the lines of once the contest is over, just change the ULM server and transfer all the Ages from the contest ULM to the public one (ULM just stores the locations of the individual files that are stored somewhere on the world wide web).
Mmm, yeah I can see how this can confuse people, but still need a permanent storage of Age files on a server, and that needs someone to be very generous to do that without a fee for that we might have two options depending on the server admins
GoMa website or
GoW website

I don't mind the GoMa hosting. They seem to have quite a bit of server space. Not sure how GoW is doing on space.

I'm confused, are we talking about an Age contest or the upcoming Shells contest here?

A little of column A and a little of Column B.
If the contest is a go I may implement a wicked little idea I have and end up finally having my shell ready to hand over.

I'd prefer that we narrow the scope of this contest to what Aloys had originally proposed: shells for Ahra Pahts.
Aloys: would people just submit their shells to you (like they usually do) to be included in the 1.0 version (which is what the judges would examine)? I don't think we need to worry about FTP sites or anything this time around, right?

I'm just pointing out ideas for after this contest which i'd like to be shell focused.
If many people don't want to do that, then we'd need a contingency plan
I would sure like Kato to comment on this as well and everyone else

What about RSD (Rapid Shell development)?
