A hub for fans Ages is definitely something that will be needed at some point. I don't know where Cyan plans to put the new Books, but I don't think they will all fit in Ae'gura's Library or in our Reltos.
Looking at the UAM list of Ages I count around 80 Ages. (80? oh my..

(IC speaking it will be important to differentiate Explorer-written Ages of other fan Ages (D'ni Ages) and keep the books separated, but I'm going beyond the topic of this thread.)
I.Brattin wrote:Unless Cyan has changed their stance, the Hub (or Library age) was reserved by them. I think thats why Rand said something about a Writer's Nexus.
That correct, but given their limited ressources, and given how important such an Age will be it might be a good opportunity to ask them if they would reconsider their position on this...
I think it would be important to have a real Age, rather than a copy of the D'ni Nexus. This would be a symbol of our work and place to gather. Although, we may not need a full Age, a simple building might work just as well. But this will be a big evolution in the story of Uru, and it needs to be symbolized by something. The ideal thing would be to be that Cyan allowed us to 'restore' a building in the City just for this...

Or we just built a new building on a bare or utterly devastated piece of land in the cavern

Not everything has to be 'restored'
One day I ran through the cleft for the fiftieth time, and found that uru held no peace for me anymore.
Re: How to decide which Fan age is first on Moulagain
I agree, but I think it would be very cool to have an official Explorers building right inside the City, where all the activity takes place. There are dozens of unusued buildings there. If the Explorer Guilds are to be the future of the Cavern, they might as well set up camp in one of those. Much like the Tokotah for the DRC. What stronger statement from Cyan to support our works?
As a matter of fact, if the DRC is indeed going for good maybe we should just invest the Tokotah?
It would make for a great IC story and live event : "After years of service and dedication the DRC is finaly leaving the Cavern and symbollically giving the keys of the place to the Called by letting them set up their head quarters in the Tokotah building which has been the Council's long standing official restoration HQ."
[edit]If Uru was the real world we would have occupied one of those buildings long ago..

There are dozens of likely places in the City, most of them I'm sure Cyan has no plans for.

My vote goes to Toroolbah and the ages you can link to from there (Bimevi, Fens and Maw.)
Re: How to decide which Fan age is first on Moulagain
Heh, I must admit, the moment Rand started talking about a Nexus for fan ages. I started playing around with my imported version of the Nexus. Recoloring/texturing it in the manner that the Guild-Pubs were. I remembered Phil having two nexus books on his shelf.
What occurred to me was a writer's nexus finally would give us an answer to at least what one of those books on Phil's shelf was.
So taking my cue from there I set about recoloring the Nexus today, in a manner similar to the pubs, changing it so it fit the style of the book on Phil's shelf (Whereas, the normal Nexus book is yellow, and the Nexus itself is goldish in color, the Writer's Nexus, if it were to be Phil's second Nexus book, would be redish in color. Perhaps like Kirel it's layout would be reversed. Etc. Just an idea though.

I'm curious to see what the "flip" of a circular room is, especially considering the avatar animations require the machine to be in the same spot
I think it's far too early to think about which fan Age should be "first" into MOULa. If anything, I expect it will be something built from scratch using 3DS Max rather than something already built using Blender.
That said, I think some good first "proof-of-concept" Ages would be ones like Bimevi, Fahets, or Trebiv'dil. Small, beautiful, and not too complicated; but also not too interactive (which could be a downside).

Ah but Paradox, the Avatar Animation is only the KI slot anim. Besides which pretty much everything thats in the Nexus, can be duplicated with PyPRP (With the exception of the scaling animation for the Nexus Dialog). Everything else in there there's already support for in PyPRP.

Agreed about the not too interactive. Simple, but good ages, are the way to go in the first step.
