I have just emailed the owner of the .org domain (Alexander Davis) to ask him if he has any intention of renewing it and if he would be ok with us potentially taking it. We'll see if anything comes out of it.

mmh..
Maybe it'd been better to just see if it expired or not. Now he might hold on to it hoping we'd buy.
Ah well, we'll see.

@Diafero
Alcugs doesn't mean a thing to most caverners. Even to me it holds only historical value (no offense meant). Keeping a list only at Alcugs because it's already there (I still don't know why we don't have it over here at the GoW wiki btw) would only add to those little weirdnesses that make them think we actually are weird.

EDIT: Yeah, not the best wording on that second part here. Everyone move along, nothing to see ;) Just some fool letting his personal history get the better of him.

So, yeah. Its going to be one of those things...

Alcugs wiki contains up-to-date information about the Alcugs servers, Drizzle and the Offline KI, all of them being projects under active development - together with a whole lot of historical pages, agreed. Drizzle and the Offline KI definitely mean something to many explorers. Alcugs may not be that visible, but the Alcugs information is by far not just "historical".

Indeed, the GoW wiki has tons of info for using Pyprp+Blender, but for pretty much everything else, Alcugs is the wiki with the important information. As Fero says: Offline-KI, Alcugs, Drizzle, and UAM are all there. Trying to fork the Agelist because some people want it to be associated with GoW instead... this will just create fights and hard feelings. (I'm not trying to make an Alcugs vs GoW thing; after all, I put my tutorials for using the 3dsmax plugin on the GoW wiki.)

It seems like things are more-or-less split properly to me. All the stuff having to do with creating an age is here, and all the stuff for messing with your Uru install (including, for better or worse, how to install and test your shiny new age) is on Alcugs.

Indeed, this is not a GoW vs Alcugs debate; but a IC vs OOC debate. We need to create an IC site, and the Alcugs list is an OOC one. Also, I am adamant that things like this list should be on the GoW site because having it on a different site is confusing for regular end users who don't know (and don't care) about Alcugs.

I agree whole heartedly they can have the Age List, we can have the books of Commentary

Yeah.
Sorry if I turned it into one. That wasn't my intention.

I think alcugs is a good place to store some tool information, but the GoW should have a list of Ages of their own - preferably IC.
A site like the GoW should not have a dependency on other websites for vital information. If only to avoid confusion for new visitors.
