The master branch already has something of an experimental feature merged in, so I think I'd like to do a little bit more performance work, then start releasing some 1.7 betas with your changes included. I think I can swing this in the next 1-2 weeks. Thanks to our changes to the Gehn build process, I now have some testing materials
