Well, you'll have to use blender somewhere down the line (to export it). I think it'll work if you export a max obj as ".obj" and then import it into blender and then export.

It's useful to know a little bit of how to work blender because you'll have to tweak your objects and add sound regions/camera/click/etc. after you get your Max made stuff into blender. I think it's good to work in the 3d-modeling program you feel most accustomed to (blender for me), I think it's very possible for you to make the meat of your age in max, and then finish it and export it with blender. :)

If you need help, don't hesitate to create a new topic. :)

G'day, I'm Blake John "Kaelis Ebonrai" Heatly.

I'm a artist, and a modeller, a D'niverse fan... and well, I've been involved in a number of open source game development projects, as an artist, either 3d, or sprite-based. I run a blog, that, in the time its been open has commented about a few game design ideas, and has commented on a few things in the open source game dev community.

I have been a modder pretty much as long as I've had a PC (in 2000, pentium 3, before that, a Commodore Amiga 600HD).

In the Oblivion modding community, I was vaguely influencial, being the department head of the oblivion section of a fairly popular multi-game modding community, and being responsible for getting it started. ( http://www.spellholdstudios.net ) If I remember correctly, it has been a long time for me, that would be the site. Its .com or .net, anyways.

I joined the Uru community, in D'mala, so, I don't quite have as long a history with Uru or the D'niverse as many here.

The thought of modifying ages and opening more and more of the City excites me, utterly. The thought of making new Ages of my own, also excites me. As does creating my own In-Cavern story, involving myself, and a few friends from a Private IRC Network I go to, this would include actually developing the new areas of the city encountered in it, the new Ages.

Some samples of my works...

Hey everyone! The recent Cyan news has gotten me excited, so I've pulled out my old copy of CC and am trying to view various Ages with ULM. I don't know how to use Blender or anything, but I do have a year's experience with 3ds max in high school, so I'll work on figuring out Blender.

Hey, Brian! :)
I guess the first thing to do is to learn how to use the Blender modeling program -- it's important to get a feel for it, even before you export stuff into Uru, I think.
This link has a series of GoW lessons on Blender: http://guildofwriters.com/wiki/BlenderB ... sroomIndex

Gadren! Yay! Good to see you!

Don't bite my face off!

Hey, Natles is trying to get the GoC together and has contacted us over at the GoMa. Are you still doing anything with them?
