Hi everyone, I fear I'm a bit late in jumping on the wagon here. My name's Ashley, but you can call me Kemp if you like. I've pretty much been interested (infatuated might be a better word) in Myst and Uru since the original Myst came out. I missed the first incarnation of Uru Live, but was around for a bit of MOUL. I'm an audio engineer by trade, and I mostly work front of house or monitors for bands, but most of my work is theatrical. A good portion of my theatrical experience is recording and editing sound effects. To cut to the chase, I'm interesting in helping out with sounds for ages. Currently I'm working on purchasing a copy of ProTools, then I'll be really set. Hope I can be of help in the near future!

I just posted this over at the Maintainers' forum, but it applies here as well. :)

Greetings, citizens! *salutes*

This is Dalken Starbyne, your friendly TCT Reporter! It seems I am taking over the roll of advertising over at TCT as well, so I was wondering...would you all like me to post announcements over here when new podcasts arrive? I've been trying to find as many forums as Essjay was on, but I'm certain I haven't caught them all! Anyway, my search revealed that Essjay did not post announcements on this forum, or so I have not been able to find any, so I figured I'd ask before I just started posting possibly unwanted (Gasp! I hope I'm not that annoying!) announcements.

So, hey, hi, yo, and shorah! Lemme know what'cha think!

Shorah, fellow Uruites.

One thing I've learned in playing around in Second Life is that I'm a fair amount more creative than I thought. Between arranging my land to my satisfaction and the encouragement of several other Uru folk also in Second Life, I've decided to give this a whirl, so this is my "hello" to all of you. I have been envisioning a potential Age, but I'm not letting cats out of the bag as yet, save for just a small item or two only viewable in Second Life as part of my landscaping. As it stands, I have MUCH to learn here, and not a whole lot of time in which to do so, so I imagine it may be some time before this project comes to fruition.

So, hi all, and I hope to be contributing to MORE as soon as possible barring RL constraints. :D

P.S., I am also a member of the Guild of Maintainers.

Shorah all

I've been in the community for quite some time, since the age of RivenGuild and the golden years of the Lyst. I've recently graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Game Developement, mostly because I want to create worlds. I'm a Maya user, but I also work well with Photoshop and Flash.

my portfolio is www.harrisonpink.com if anyone wants to see what I am capable of. I hope I can work with you guys to create some amazing worlds!

I've been playing the Myst games since I was something like 8 years old, but I've never really gotten involved in the community until now. I made an attempt back in 2004, but as a Mac user I didn't have much to do with Uru, and dropped out until November when I got a new MacIntel and one of my friends let me play Uru on his account. I love Photoshop (I've been using it almost as long as I've been playing Myst), and I'm working on bettering my drawing skills. I'm an undergrad in New Media Design (motion graphics and interactive design type stuff) and I'm part of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. I know some ActionScript, and 3d modeling (I've used Bryce and Cinema 4D).

I would be psyched to work with others, coming up with the age, sketching it out, and doing textures. I would also be interested in helping some with the writing. Basically anything creative!

Hi gang,

I'm indiginous (aka haddock) - I'm a private network admin who has been lurking and playing Myst/Uru games through the years and I'm ready to help with the restoration!

I'm very interested in creating a searchable database where content age builders can go to find contact info for specific content. Say, for example, you wanted to build an age: but felt overwhelmed at the idea of creating EVERYTHING youself. You could search the database for content (sound fx, music, plants, animals, furniture, buildings, etc., etc.) that might be a nice fit for your age. When you found what you like, you would be able to contact the creator to obtain permison and whatever files you needed to add the content to your age.

I've looked around a bit, but have yet to find any discussions on such a database. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
Otherwise, I figure it is just a matter of time before lots of us start to build ages for MORE,

Cheers!

Hello everyone!

It's high time to make my entry here, I already joined a few months ago. I've got addicted with Uru since the early first beta, August 2003. Then the usual way: Prologue, UU, new beta, MOUL. I was always Norfren there. Concerning the latter, with a bit of cheating (I dare to admit now), as I belong to the unsupported EU countries.

Of 3D modelling, I'm quite advanced in POV-ray, I made good use of it when I created Uru-related stuff in the Creativity forum thread and similar places. Therefore learning Blender did not pose too much problems, of course, only a small part of Blender's capacities is necessary in Age creating. Quite good C++ practice (mostly scientific stuff), no python at all, so it's a bit problem now, I've been too lazy to probe into python so far. What I would need at most is to patch the days somehow: 34 hours instead of 24.
