Shorah! I am Kefrith, a long-time Myst fan. I run my own Myst Fansite,
http://kefrith.meinwald.info, and I want to learn how to build ages. I currently know absolutely nothing about it, so if some experienced GoW members could help me get started, I would greatly appreciate it!

Hey, all,
SynopsisI want to play more Myst/Uru, and I've decided the best way I can ensure that is to help make new worlds.
Brief bioMy name's PearBoy, and I'm addicted to Myst games. Which is a sad state to be in, since Cyan keeps losing funding then getting it back then shutting down and firing everyone then reopening and hiring everyone again then losing funding and it all starts over from the top.
I was a proud member of the Slacker's Guild during the Until Uru era. My name was TofuBoy then. My skin was purple. I was a member of the Meter Room. Blong!
I like exploring new places, solving puzzles, and taking long walks in giant underground cities.
My mad skillzI want to help make new worlds. Toward that goal, I can lend a hand in several areas. I'm a trained writer, and I love crafting stories. I can write convincing, believable dialog in a variety of voices. I can also write stories in the larger sense, designing plot arcs and storylines, with interesting and likable characters.
In my professional life, I'm a designer. I make pretty objects and websites. I'd love to make supporting websites, tshirts, books (!), little pieces of paper, whatever.
I also write music, though nothing shockingly exciting. You can hear some pieces at
http://r-blog.com/sounds/ideas-ep.
At one point in my life I thought I was interested in learning to use blender and modeling in 3D. It passed.
Witty ConclusionThank you, friends, for sharing my passion for a game that never really quite got a chance and has never felt finished. I look forward to continuing it with you.

Welcome PearBoy, Kefrith, Jusme and others!
If you'd like to be part of an age creation team, add your name to the
registered table of writers. Team leaders looking for resources will check this list for available people. Also, I recommend creating a user Wiki page that lists your skills in more detail, providing examples of your work. Think of it as your age creation resume.

Hello. I have been playing the Myst games since I was very young, and had been playing Uru Live almost since it came out onto GameTap. I was very sorry to see it go. I write short stories, mostly science fiction, and I have a lot of ideas for various ages. I posted this in the artists section too, but if anyone is willing to help me work on the concept art, I have pages and pages of ideas for different kinds of worlds. I love being a part of Myst, and I think this guild is a good way for me to use my skills to try and add to the MORE community, even if, in small way. Having just found this forum, it looks like I have some reading to catch up, so I'll bid you farewell, and thank you for reading.

Hi, I'm 75th Trombone, and I've been in the community since Noah walked the earth and I've been inactive about as long as him, too.
I'm just peeking around at the moment. Once all this open-sourciness of Uru gets settled down, if it's feasible, I want to oversee (or tag along on) the effort to implement my most-wanted Uru feature for half a decade: A PARTICLE EFFECT ON LINKING AVATARS.
So hi.

KI# 01807516 I've been using computers since Hollerith Cards; took me three months to get a program working to find square roots and cube roots correct to 3 decimal places. I was originally a rocket scientist but wound up in education as teacher and administrator. Found MYST in about '94 and was a solo gamer when I had the time until MOUL in 2006. Found that I could do admin. problem solving and have done that for many years. Was and am fascinated by what CYAN and the fans did with MYST and up to current situation.
I think I will find it interesting to get more involved here to see where it can go, and how it gets there. My favorite games other than MYST are SPORE, SL Science Island, Microsoft Flight Simulator, PORTAL, and WII Sports Games.
I'll help where I can and probably input in administrative areas when and if I have something to contribute. See you all IC!

by Kenguin
Hi! I'm Ken. My online name is usually "Penguin" but since in URU, you are you, I decided to compromise and go with "Kenguin."
I've been in and out of the online myst community since RivenLyst, and have dabbled with URU since the prologue, but I never got very deep into the online community due to general lack of time. After Prologue closed, I kept an eye on things but didn't delve into UntilURU or any of the hacking or user-created ages that was going on. When MOUL opened back up on gametap I jumped right in, but fell off again when it closed.
When I saw the announcement that Myst Online is going open source I got really excited. I decided I needed to "catch up" on all the community hacking and age creation that I had missed out on. Over the holidays I had a bit of an uru sprint (much to my girlfriend's chagrin), downloading as many fan ages as I could find, pouring through wikis and documentation, studying PyPRP, Python, and blender. I would like to start contributing to the myst community via programming and scripting, puzzle design, and maybe a little sound/music design (I have no visual art skills to speak of). Unfortunately, I still don't have very much free time for such things, so I'll probably never be a core contributor, but I think I could make a positive impact dabbling now and then. I'm not really interested in officially joining a guild, but instead see myself contributing to any project that would like some help.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves! I'm still very much in a learning stage, with the goal of knowing as much as I can about current fan knowledge and tools for the plasma engine before the source code is released. I'm in the process now of tracing through the PyPRP code to see how it ticks.
I would like to contribute to the GoW wiki a bit, and clean up the documentation there as I learn about the tools and make it a bit more complete and easy to understand. Unfortunately, my forum login doesn't work for the wiki. Can anyone help me with that?

Hello, I'm eggy
I left a post on the Myst Online forums as to where exactly I came from. To summarize, I've been around for a while poking my head in here and there sense the conception of Myst Online: Uru Live. I figured I'd finally sign up on these forums here as well, to see what you guys are up to.
