Now that I've seen most of all of your ages I have one thing to say: wow.

Working on an age for the contest makes you see these ages in a whole new light.

I've seen so many RAD ages and AhraPahts shells before but these are all so good. I'd have to say there's not really a "bad" one in there. They're all eye candy. :D

Maybe we should just make a new contest that takes place over 3 weeks and is all about how good looking the age is. :D

I am very very impressed with all the small Ages that you have all created, and i'm glad both GPMilano and Andylegate both decided to submit their unfinished Ages.

All of them fit the parameters of the contest ad all of them I will enjoy just chilling out

I do hope to have the first complete version of Eder Licinius out this week. (I decided to take another crack at the SDL Animations, and can link in without crashing so now I just need to wait to see if anything changes. (that's just for the sky background, then i have to tackle ageglobalanims.

Lontahv wrote:I was wondering about my age I submitted. I had a PM from BobLishman about the waveset version not working. I think I know why it's not but didn't have enough time to re-upload for the judges. So, I have no idea if any of them can see the waveset version. If you're a judge and can see the water in that version can you please post here or PM me so I can figure out how widespread this problem is. Thanks.

I'm glad I sunk the time into some decent non-waveset water. If you can't see the sea in the waveset version get the non-waveset version. Sorry for the technical trouble. I'll work on getting it fixed after the contest is over.

Andy reckons he can get it to work, but I can't both non waveset and waveset versions say corrupt files

Oh, Andy, I am looking forward to what Mark D has to say on using their assets, and your Age does look amazing, everyones does
And you will be more than welcome to post feedback on the contest on the feedback thread that 'll start up at the end, I really want to sort out once and for all what we did right and what we did wrong, and I know a number of things to which i'm hanging over an active volcano over for.

GPN, make sure to take a look at the lighting situation. The avatar looks a little bright when you first link in. I'm not exactly sure what's dark textures and what's vertex paint but some very important things I learned from Cyan is:

Make high-contrast textures. The textures should have very dark and very light parts--take a look at the crazy textures in Tre'bivdil ;) .
Try to avoid using vertex paint for anything other than baking the current lighting scheme (build detail into decals and other layers).

I got a chance to follow these all though the building of my age and the lighting matched the avatar lighting at every point in development (no "fixing" the lighting). :)

Apart from the too-bright avatar (or is it the too-dark objects) everything looks great in your age. Just apply shoe-polish at the end.

Err... sorry if it sounds like I'm one of the judges. I'm just in the habit of doing this.

Quick edit here a response to Grogyan getting corrupted files. Try clearing your browser cache. Because the current zips ARE valid. :D Is this the problem of the age not appearing in the ULM? Go into your dat folder and see if the prps and age file etc. are in there. Hope you can get it working. :)

Lontahv, yeah i wasn't happy with the light when I first link in. for some reason, uru wasn't exporting the lightmap right for the center court. Now it is. The idea is that the blue stone, it all comes from the mountain itself, which is a blue mountain, hence why it looks dark. thats the color of the actual rock. its supposed to look dark, and if the lightmap had worked, you would have noticed the contrast between the light and the dark in the tile, thats between the blue stone every few feet. around the one part of the mountain its supposed to be dark and blue, and closer to the edge it becomes its normal color. But the light map is screwy.

On a brighter note, two hours after the contest closed i finally got the SDL animation for the sky working. It now goes from the normal color you guys saw it to, a dark dark blue and fades into night like Gira.

Now I just need to tackle the other stuff. here's a pic though:

I just spent some time in the submitted Ages and I'm overwhelmed by the quality of them. Great work guys.
