Ok, so correct me if I'm wrong here--at the moment we are just waiting for GPNMilano to finish building the WNexus itself and for kaelisebonrai to finish the terminal, and then diafero will do the code-work, correct?

The machine is done. Based on the critisim of it feeling to much like a maintainers Nexus, I'm going to redesign the room itself so it feels more like a writer/community nexus. I'd like to keep the input, and if anyone has any creative suggestions or concept art they'd like to throw my way they're more then welcome to do so as I overhaul the look of the room.

As for Kaelis and Diafero. As Diafero said he won't be able to do any coding for another month, and I'm not sure where Kaelis stands on the terminal itself.

My activities will be rather limited till Feb 22ndm indeed. Then I have 5 weeks full of time :)
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.

the terminal is only necessary as a resource for ages that need to use the writer's nexus as a way to register a link, its not required for actual operation. ;)

I haven't worked on it for a while, but i will upload what I have at this time - for right now, I'm too busy with other projects.

Along with this I am, at present, rather less enthusiastic about certain members of the uru community - mostly due to... uh, unpleasant interactions with those certain members. This has, as a result, limited my enthusiasm somewhat.

EDIT: here's the model - http://guildofartisans.org/uruages/writ ... nal9.blend

Bummer, man :( That happens from time to time, though. Sorry if someone pissed you off. Hopefully it wasn't me (can't think why it would be but one can never be certain). I like your terminal though and I'm looking forward to seeing its completion.

Glad to hear it :D

I like the terminal and fully intend to include one in my own first Age (when and if I ever get around to Writing it...)

I think that it would be better not to create separation and not touch the Cyan Nexus at all. Fan D'ni Locations should be left in the WNexus, as it would just eventually bring us in a circle back to this problem. Now, if we were to simply add Tweek's GUI to the Cyan Nexus that would work much better. Thus, here is what I think should be done:

1. Fan Ages and Fan D'ni Locations are in the new WNexus.
2. There is a new Nexus terminal for use in Ages.
3. As discussed earlier, there will be an Age viewer in the machine and two viewers in the WNexus.
4. We may decide to add a new GUI to the Cyan Nexus once this project is finished.

I *strongly* disagree.

Fan D'ni locations /should/ be in Cyan's nexus.

There is no reason to separate them at all.

And I suspect Chloe will agree with me on that.

Again, I reiterate, seperating out D'ni locations into the Writer's Nexus is one bad idea. For a variety of reasons:

1. Instancing: In Alcugs this doesn't really matter. But for DIRTSand or UU shards it does. And the less instancing of The cavern the better it is for continuity's sake.

2. Cavern should be public. This ties into number 1 a bit. But the cavern, and it's ALL it's locations should only be public. I know this brings up issues with certain places like Fehnir's house -Tweek mentioned, why would there be a link to a guy's private residence in the nexus. To be fair, the Nexus has already gone through a series of hacks in canon. Laxman fooled around with it so that it would display in English, like the KI. It's just as reasonable that we, as explorers, could later fool aorund with it so that it displayed links that you didn't need a nexus terminal for, like Fehnir's house or Chloes Hood Office.

3. Promotes the non seperation of Cyan and Fan related content. By keeping Some of the ages in the Cyan Nexus, it won't look like we're seperating out what's Cyan and what's fan made. But rather that we're seperating things out for cannon/continuity reasons. And that's what it would be.
