As far as I know, you can use the OGG files only. I'm not sure why Plasma also uses WAV (perhaps to decode the sounds more quickly ?)

Nice pine tree, doors, etc, by the way :) A skybox makes it look a lot better.

For the snow, I'm not sure ripples would be fine (since these are created even when the avatar stands still). Maybe simple footprints would do.
In both case, I think you should put the collision 1 unit below the actual snow, so it doesn't look like the snow is 3 millimeters deep (if you didn't have the idea already).

About your idea, Rhee, it's possible, but the avatar would "warp" each time he steps on a new face. Plus it would require re-coding the camera again, create 1 subworld and 2 regions per face (at most 6 for a cube, but for a sphere it would require an insane number). Personally I think the main part of Relativity is enough for these gravity things.

However it would be nice to see more Escher-like models in the gardens, such as a Möbius band with ants, a version of Up and Down, maybe Penrose steps...
Of course we have to forget about impossible structures...

Not necessarily, the problem with making a lot of these seemingly impossible structures is that they hafta be viewed from one specific angle or it wont look right. I'll see what I can come up with after I get finished with the crystal door knob and hardware

I will get started on those flowers and ferns soon as i can! I assume you would maybe just want the ferns as simple wide blade and you'll use a partially transparent texture on them to get the definition of all the little leaves?

/me feels excited to be part of the project!

Also, thanks Sirius for the info on the cubular garden not being so feasible. This is why I asked!! Maybe this can be a new, separate project, someday... haha!

Why don't you focus on the flowers, then we'll decide what to do about the ferns afterwards? Remember our theme is to attempt to mimic the "look" of Escher's drawing.

No screen prints tonight, though I was very busy. Shall we discuss just exactly how long it takes till this becomes easy? We might get there faster if we lowered our standards  . Anyhoo, I wound up creating my own sky texture from scratch to get a perfect mapping. I finally got it! After a couple of dozen failed attempts, I realized what was causing the problem and created a texture to work around it. Phew! I'm glad that's done. Hopefully I'll have more screen prints tomorrow.

Once in a while the thought strikes me that I usually stay very hush, hush in public about anything I'm building to publish. This is a fun change of pace :P . We still won't know how it comes out till it's done and we're in it. We'll have to plan a party.

Here is my first try at some door hardware I included a chunk of the door so you can see how it fits together, the png file's for the environmental map might need to be redone after its installed in the door.
tell me what you, think or if it needs anything, and feel free to tweak it as necessary

Okay, this will be next on the agenda :) . I finally started making better progress now that I have a decent method for baking the lighting maps and the sky sphere is done. We have screenshots:

Dressed Up The Table

Moved The Door

Planted Another Tree

I've been studying Escher's prints and I've already got several that I want to use. These are cool, I can make some interesting effects using his prints. I have ideas! Don't worry, they don't involve anymore impossible models. That's what the house is. But I can use them to easily add all sorts of interest to the age. I've been careful to only get signed prints. We don't want anyone thinking we did the drawings.

I'm looking forward to the doorknobs :P . Sometimes little things like that can make a big difference.

Nice work Calena,
Now if we only found a way to make real bumpmaps.
Then those 2d hands on the table also slowly turned into 3d.
The hands of the writer, if Mr. Escher could see them, he would be proud.
Those wonderfull Worlds are called " Ages" , because that is what it takes to build one.

 The table is... wow, impressive. Blending the wood texture with the drawing is a very nice idea.

I think the sky is a bit too dark, I would expect a brighter color...
But overall the new pictures feel really nice.

Wow!!! I see the 'feminine creativity, beauty and perfection' is at work here ... Awesome job, Calena ... :P

The hands look very much 3D, I really had to look several times onto the table to see that they are really an integrated picture in there ... The sky looks very real already and I also love the cosy ambience it conveys ... I believe, by completion of this project it's supposed to have changing daytimes with sunlight/sunrise/sunset and moving clouds or even seasons as you've mentioned before anyways ... And yes, I also love those 'little things' and details like beautifully fitting door knobs etc. ... :)

Calena have the artist's touch. The table prove it.
Why don't you do a little secret area that opens only when "the player" found some Escher's hidden paint (like the one in the table)? It could be like the cloths on URU.

I wrote "you do" because I can't do things like that, I'm sorry
