I think Aloys idea is a good one, it's a possibility to make Ahra Paths a more living city. In my option it can be a not rapid contest but a contest over all the shells there are made conpleted and not completed, new and old ones.

Maybe giving it 4 weeks instead of the usual two weeks would draw more contestants?

4 weeks to me sounds like it too long, what about 3 weeks?
Cause I know we have a lot of newbies that are getting to terms with Blender so they could need that extra week.

I have to agree with Grogyan. 3 weeks seems like an ideal term for the contest. Especially in regards to a possible return of Uru Live. Content was released monthly. If Uru comes back, and new content is added, a 3 week RAD contest would give age creators more of an idea of what Cyan has to go through to create new content on a regular basis.

bump
And what does everyone think for a reward for the winner?
As much as i'd like to post a copy of GPU Gems etc, I just cannot afford that unless someone else can

How about their name appears in the August GoW Newsletter? This can also be distributed to the Uru community at large via the GoMe.

The Guild of Messengers are ravishing on the news that there will be another contest.
Last time having 2 Writers and 3 Maintainers worked out quite well, is everyone happy to keep it at the same mix?
I have also sent an offer to Cyan to be on the judging panel, no word as of yet if they will.
Also I have asked Nynaveve about the possibility for the Maintainers hosting space to upload files, so before the contest, can you ask me or ask Nynaveve directly over on the Maintainer's forum if you'll likely to need some space to upload your Shell.
This time it would be advantageous to zip files up and either send the zip file to Aloys by email or upload it, Chacal has also offered short term space on his server and send a link of the location of the zip to Aloys before the deadline of the contest.
If you need a client to upload files easily to a server, I suggest using an ftp client such as
FileZilla, this one is just one of many, its just a matter of preferennce
I'm going to add as much as I can tonight about the contest.

Its not entirely done yet, but it does have a lot in it that should be of help

http://guildofwriters.com/wiki/RADA problem did arise when I was typing it up, now that the import feature has been taken out of the plugin, I was wondering how the judges are going to look at the internals of it?
I have two options that I can think of,
1) Send to the lead judge as well as Aloys a copy of the zip file with the blend file
2) Send to the lead judge a copy of the blend file
This way he/she can disseminate the blend file to the rest of the judges to look at it
In either case, for the judge to see the textures in use instead of fluro pink, would the best approach be to place the textures in the .zip or pack a sample into the .blend file. Though I don't know how packing a sample works in Blender when file sharing the .blend file.

Grogyan:
Thanks for setting this up. Here's a couple useful links for the Wiki page:
If we require the shell artists to submit their Blender files, then I recommend packing the textures.
