despite the reddish color, I think I like number 5 myself. Looks more like it fits the scene better.

Given the macroscopic crystalline-ish nature of the topography, I'd expect none of those, but rather something more like slate, stood on end, or perhaps some sort of structurally scaled up mica. Of the five, I believe the marble makes the most sense, followed by sandstone.

EDIT: To clarify: something that would shear off in clean straight cuts.

Shorah Greypiffle,

I'd say that number 5 would work well, just increase the number of repeats on the cliff walls.
Number 1, the marble, may work okay with a 90 degree rotation, "streamlining" the marble veins up the cliffs.
Number three makes for the nicest round rock texture - for smaller rocks, not cliffs.

Not really gone... Just waiting. I've pretty much got the simple puzzle of this age worked out but I'm waiting on software dev for TS. (trueSpace) Then it will have to wait for MORE. :D
