Ok, on windows you need to install the MSVC redist. I thought the dlls were enough but blah. Just google it. I used MSVC 2008.
I downloaded and installed
this one and rebooted my system, but nothing changed.

Jamey, right now "Cyan" is just a couple of guys trying to survive. The only e-mail they want to get is from a publisher offering a development contract so they can avoid closing the books.

I have SP3 on XP an I'm using an Intel P4. I'll look into your error (I've only ever gotten that error when I didn't have the VC runtime stuff installed). Maybe try deleting the MSVC .dll files from your folder with the exe so it uses the ones that you installed (not sure about what order it loads and searches for libs in but this may be the problem).

You also need to provide libfreetype-6.dll and zlib1.dll.
Easily found on the net.
Edit: great work, Lon. Quick and neat.
Works well with all .prp files, and all .age files except from MystV. It even shows all craters in Minkata!
When you get all textures to show perfectly, this could be quite useful for Age writers, much quicker than starting the game.
Kudos to Zrax for libPlasma too (and all contribs).

Perhaps we need to split this into two threads.
One with the actual development discussion and one with the concept/proposal discussion.
I am not trying to scare anyone off and I am interested in both threads it's just there appear to be two mixed threads here almost intertwined.

There is a valid proposal on the table eloquently phrased with great sincertiy. I find the sniping at Cyan to be offensive to say the very least. Let us honor the sincerity of this propsal and I suggest the mods trim out the chaff, ie the hostile and angry posts so we can deal with a sincere idea about helping Cyan. I will give it some serious thought.

I see no reason to trim any posts. Cyan is pretty much dead and more than likely going to stay that way, the sooner people accept reality, the sooner we can move forward.

Thanks Chacal! Glad you got it working. The .age files from M5 only show if you set that version (since when reading prp files it can tell but by the time it's read the .age it's too late to set). I'll need to check the prps before I load the age.

Any chance of getting this written up as an idiot guide (that's for idiots like me) and getting it posted in the Wiki this looks like being just so useful as a development tool.
Would there be a way to meld this with the ULM?

J'Kla is right about staying on topic though.
We should stop discussing PlasmaView other than about it being a possible alternative to having Cyan run a MO:RE server. Or split the thread.
