I think I have it figured Cyan are re-branding as an Auto company to get some of the government funding. They needed big money from somewhere so it's going to be "Cyan Automotive Worlds Inc"

Do I actually have to explain that a post about an announcement that is going to be made on another forum is considered an off-topic discussion?

Unless I was led wrong, this guild is focused on the building of ages, whether Cyan is involved or not. We would be ecstatic to hear that Cyan has got themselves back on track and want to release MORE for fan content use. We also would not close up shop if that turned out to be an impossibility.

So please don't take offense because we have some rules on how this forum is organized. As it is, this is one of the most permissible forums in the community. We simply want things to be in order.

I would like to question the grounds for this statement, particularly the bit I have emphasised. ALL of the Age building that I have seen or visited in avie form is built on the game-engine foundation laid by Cyan. It may have been added to by tools developed by the fan community, but Cyan is at the root of it. No Cyan involvement, no age writing.

Or are you saying that the Guild of Writers has moved on, away from just Uru, away from recognising Cyan's essential involvement (e.g. at the most basic level, obtaining FCA licences from them for your work)? That might be news to a lot of people within the wider Uru community.

I think what he means is that, with the stuff Cyan has allowed so far, the Guild is capable of producing Ages pretty much regardless of how this announcement comes out. I'd also say that, while you're correct about the game being Cyan's, that foundation you speak of has been laid for quite a while. Cyan no longer has intense involvement in the process (one can make an Age without any FCAL, etc.).

For myself, I don't care where the topic is. There's a shadow of it in General Discussion, so anyone can easily find it.
